21.01.2022 DMVS family pets! Shenzi-ACE is a 3 and a 1/2 year old Staffy cross owned by nurse Emily. We have had her since she was 1 day old. ... She thinks she is a human and loves to go everywhere with you. And she just loves people in general! Does not like missing out on anything! She also thinks she is a kelpie and loves helping shift sheep. Her favourite vehicle on the farm is our 4x4 buggy and her favourite speed is fast (she also loves the tractor, as you can see). We also love water skiing and tube rides... but at the end of the day we love cuddling on the lounge. See more

21.01.2022 Meet Wilson, who visited us recently to be desexed Did you know that from July 1st this year the NSW Government introduced annual fees for owners with non-desexed cats? Other than saving on fees there are many benefits in desexing your pets, if you have any questions please phone us on 6884 9900.

21.01.2022 ****UPDATE- No more needed**** Thank you all so much, we have been overwhelmed by all of your generosity in helping us out with towels and blankets, and we are now fully stocked. We really appreciate it, and all of our patients will as well. THANK YOU!! We are in need of some towels and blankets to keep our patients warm, as our stock is running low. If anyone is having a clean out we would love to take them off your hands. Please only towels and blankets, we do not need any ...other linen. If you have some please phone the clinic and we will let you know where to drop them, so you will not have to come into contact with anyone. Thank you in advance

17.01.2022 Pet Diabetes Awareness Month Did you know that cats and dogs can get diabetes too? Luckily in most cases, diabetes can be managed with insulin injections, a healthy diet and exercise.

15.01.2022 Don't let your fur child suffer this dreadful virus. Consult your vet now. We've talked to Dr Julia at Duncan McGinness Veterinary Surgeon about why there's an 'outbreak' of parvo:

14.01.2022 With this lovely Spring weather we also see more parasites on our furry friends. Now is a good time to check if they are up to date and grab some flea, tick and worm preventions. Your pets will (silently) thank you

14.01.2022 With the Taronga Western Plains Zoo back open make sure you all go and have a walk around this beautiful place we are lucky enough to have in our own backyard!

13.01.2022 With August just around the corner we are running Dental Month again. In Dental Month we offer a free dental assessment and if your pet does require a dental procedure there are also discounts included. Dental health is a major factor that contributes to your pets overall health. We often hear from owners with older patients who were hesitant to have a procedure done and comment after the surgery that their dog is playing like a puppy again, which is so wonderful to hear. Our beloved pets are so tough and good at hiding signs of pain. Even if you are unsure if your pet has any dental issues, use this opportunity to come in for a free assessment. Please make sure you phone us on 68849900 to secure your spot.

06.01.2022 DMVS family pets. We have seen a lot of dogs in our staff pets so we thought it was time to share another species. Our client coordinator Sarah has 6 chooks who are very cunning as they like to steal food out of the Jack Russells mouth. They like exploring and were often found out in the paddock eating grain when the sheep were being trail feed when it was dry. But now they are loving all the green grass and bugs. Currently they are on a break from laying eggs while the weather is cool but they make delicious eggs. They also have a good time chasing an active little toddler for food.

03.01.2022 Recently we have seen a large increase in the parvovirus cases around Dubbo. Please check your dogs vaccination status! Puppies require 3 vaccinations by the time they are 16 weeks old. Puppies should be isolated in a parvo free area (no walks) until 10 days after their third vaccine. All dogs must then have annual vaccinations to be protected from this virus. ... If you are unsure if your dog is up to date, please phone the clinic on 02 6884 9900. Please click the link to head to our website and read more about parvo. https://www.dmvs.com.au/pet-care-tips//15/canine-parvovirus

03.01.2022 For the months of March and April here at DMVS with your help we raised over $1200 from a proportion of our Annual Health Examination and Vaccination Reviews to go to the Taronga Western Plains Zoo Veterinary Clinic. After our very memorable behind the scenes tour of the zoo in January we really wanted to help show our appreciation of the Zoo Veterinary Clinic that sometimes might get forgotten. The amazing team do tremendous work in keeping all those animals in good health. ...With the funds raised we were able to provide the zoo with some equipment that will be very helpful throughout their day. From bedding to keep their clinic patients warm and dry, some carry cages that will help transport some koalas or even monkeys. As well as a surgery table cradle and heat matts that will assist during surgery on all ranges of animals from birds to Lions. We are very happy to be able to help them out in a small way.
