24.01.2022 So looking forward to lots of new musical adventures here in Perth. I'm offering guitar lessons in-person in East Vic Park or zoom/skype lessons to musicians ANYWHERE. Get in touch if you're interested - [email protected]
24.01.2022 Pretty thrilled to feature with Enoggera Ensemble on the cover of B.M.G. (the oldest fretted instrument magazine in the world!)
23.01.2022 Ooo I have just been granted associate composer representation with the Australian Music Centre! It's been on my bucket list for well over a decade, so I'm thrilled that this little dream has now become a reality :)
21.01.2022 Ooo Fab review in Limelight Magazine for the Final Fantasy concert on Saturday!
20.01.2022 Just reflecting on the fabulous time I had in Adelaide last week after taking part in the 2020 FAME (Federation of Australasian Mandolin Ensembles) festival. Not only did I have the privilege of leading the wonderful guitar section, but I got to make music with the large group (of about 50) beautiful mandolin, mandola, mando-cello, and bass players. I performed as a soloist in Siegfried Behrend’s Spanish Impressions, gave four world premieres of new works (compositions by Eduard Grigoryan, Werner Ruecker, Marcus Kha, and myself), gave a lecture-recital on my DMA research with my Enoggera Ensemble buddy, Joel Woods, and performed in two informal house-concerts. I also made so many friends and some great professional contacts. What an amazing week!
20.01.2022 Thanks so much to Bodja Chairs and Bronwyn Harm for these charming pictures taken at Newstead House Brisbane for Cellar Series last Sunday.
18.01.2022 Euoggera started life as a quartet for Enoggera Ensemble and then grew into a piece for large guitar ensemble (aka Riverside Guitar Ensemble). Check out our recording of it from October 2019.
18.01.2022 Here's a wonderful documentary about the mandolin in Australia. I was happy to provide the presenters (Carlo Aonzo - Mandolin) with some information about Queensland-based activities https://youtu.be/6h4qxK12leo
16.01.2022 Very excited to be playing guitar (and ukulele!) for an exciting concert of chamber music from Final Fantasy at the Brisbane Powerhouse on Feb 15th https://brisbanepowerhouse.org/whats-on/event/a-new-world/
15.01.2022 Just had my research paper published in the Queensland History Journal! It officially comes out in May, so you'll have to wait until then to see it https://queenslandhistory.org/publications/
14.01.2022 Here's a sneaky-peek at Enoggera Ensemble's programme for our concert at Newstead House Brisbane for The Cellar Series on October 13th. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/the-cellar-series-concert-2
12.01.2022 This was a lot of fun to put together! So glad that my Brisbane guitar family (aka Riverside Guitar Ensemble) has still been able to make music during the lockdown
11.01.2022 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I mean... the start of the school year! These little stocking fillers are the sorts of gifts that keep on giving throughout the whole year hehe Looking forward to handing some of these out to my Young Beginner guitarists at Open Conservatorium tomorrow!
10.01.2022 Looking forward to performing at the Mandolins in Brisbane Celebrate 21 Years concert this coming Saturday night. I'll be playing the mini guitar concerto 'Spanish Impressions' by Siegfried Behrend. I've played the piece previously in Perth, Brisbane, and Tokyo, and I'll be playing it in Adelaide in January next year with the FAME (Federation of Australasian Mandolin Ensembles).

06.01.2022 Hey Brisbane friends! This Thursday night the Riverside Guitar Ensemble (the amazing guitar ensemble I play with) is giving our final concert for 2019, and we're being joined by friends such as the Enoggera Ensemble, Jacaranda Guitar Quartet, and the wonderful Open Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble. At one point all 34 guitarists will perform together! We will also feature new works by members of the ensemble. It's at 7:30pm this Thursday at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (Ian Hanger Recital Hall). Tickets available at the door for $10/$15.
05.01.2022 Any Brisbane musicians (teachers, students, professionals, and amateurs) who are interested in learning more about AMEB exams are invited to attend AMEB Qld's Open Day 2020. I'll be there! Come and say hi :)
