24.01.2022 Summer vibes in Melbourne today, getting us excited for weddings again!

24.01.2022 The lads looking spiffy at Melanie and Joel's mini-wedding. We managed to sneak this one in between the lockdowns in Melbourne. They opted to go ahead with their original date and are planning on a big reception next year when everyone can make it. Should be one hell of a party!

23.01.2022 In photography, lighting is everything. And the skies in Melbourne are definitely more grey than blue! This actually works in your favour though, because it turns the sky into one big soft-box. Full sunlight makes for some harsh shadows, but I think this looks a lot nicer...... This photos was taken by @caity_smith_ while I was taking photos of the gents! See more

22.01.2022 This photo really captures the vibe of the day. Melanie and Joel got married with just their close friends and family, and even though it was a small wedding, it was also a very emotional one. The morning was cold and raining, but right after we came out of the church the sun came up as everyone celebrated together.

22.01.2022 Finally some good news in Melbourne! Looks like weddings will be coming back sooner than we thought. From October 19th, 10-person weddings will be back, so if you're interested in a small scale wedding let us know!

21.01.2022 If you've got it, flaunt it. Gabby's extra long veil stealing the show on her wedding day.

21.01.2022 Sarah and Tim stealing a moment before being officially announced as husband and wife. One of our favourite things about shooting their wedding at @logcabinranch was these awesome trees everywhere!

16.01.2022 Your wedding day can go by pretty quickly! So take a moment when you can. Your friends and family will hug you, hand you drinks and congratulate you every chance they get. All eyes will be on you for those big moments, walking down the aisle, the first dance, cutting the cake. You only get to live this day once, so take your time and enjoy every moment. ... Oh yeah, but photos last forever! Even the small moments that you might have forgotten about, so don't worry too much. #wevegotyourback See more

16.01.2022 There's so much more to wedding photos than just the 'official' portraits! The whole day is a journey - from the nerves and mad scrambles of getting ready right through till the end of the night when we say our goodbyes. We start the day as complete strangers. But by the end of the night we've spent the whole day together, we've met your best friends and closest relatives. We've shared a meal and a drink with and even partied with you on the dancefloor.... We get to tell your story through photos. And it's so much fun! See more

15.01.2022 The biggest lesson I've gotten from this lockdown is gratitude. Yeah it sucks, but the fact that I have internet access, a roof over my head, warm clothes, food and clean running water (and Netflix obviously) is all pretty amazing when you think about it. I've been to developing nations and literally seen whole families sharing one little hut in the dirt. They have to rely on themselves and what they can grow or catch every day just to eat.... So when I'm having a bad day (trust me there's been plenty of those lately) I just remind myself that this is only temporary, and I am so bloody lucky to have everything I need in life. See more

14.01.2022 How to get people to 'act natural' in photos: Make a joke out of it! No-one likes having their photo taken, there's nothing 'natural' about it. We usually just say something dumb like 'hey guys, look at each other and pretend someone said something hilarious". ... It sounds stupid but it's a great ice-breaker! See more

14.01.2022 Does anyone else really struggle to think of captions?? Ok I'm over half way through my challenge, posting every day for 30 days. But I'm running out of ideas. If you've got any tips for how to think of good captions let me know. I really just want to show you all cool photos! ... Exhibit A: Jo & Jason from their backyard wedding.

14.01.2022 Traditional weddings aren't for everyone. There's a million reasons why some couples are now looking at smaller weddings as an attractive option... We love to travel as much as possible, in our own country or another - so if you're considering running away and eloping, take us with you!

12.01.2022 Hey guys, we have a HUGE announcement! Buuuuuttt we can't tell you what it is just yet.... Stay tuned though, it will be dropping very, very soon! Any guesses what it might be?

12.01.2022 Sending our love to all the venues out there! We've shot weddings in all kinds of places - rooftops, backyards, farms, beaches, vineyards etc. And we've got some amazing weddings coming up! But you'll just have to wait and see where...

06.01.2022 One of the main benefits of working with Caitlin at every wedding: two different perspectives. While I'm busy getting those classic couples portraits to hang on your wall, she's getting the small moments like this. It makes for a much better wedding gallery than I could possibly do on my own!

05.01.2022 Photos freeze moments in time. And video brings moments to life. One thing we've noticed is how video is becoming more and more a part of our everyday lives: Netflix, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels... we're creating and consuming more video than ever! We're happy to offer both options but it's interesting to think what the future will look like, and what place photos will have.... Do you think photos will be around forever?

04.01.2022 One of my favourite parts of being a wedding photographer is the places it takes you. Getting out of the familiar neighbourhoods and exploring other states and little country towns is so much fun! Also they have the best pies out in the country, so bakery stops are compulsory.

03.01.2022 Hot tip: If your wedding is coming up, have you thought about where you're getting ready? Setting aside one room or even just a clean, well lit space will help you get better photos. There's definitely a lot of chaos on the morning of a wedding (we've seen it all!) but even just one nice window like this can make a huge difference.

02.01.2022 We've had a lot of enquiries for couples and family shoots lately, and it looks like we might finally be able to start booking them in again... Fingers crossed from October 19th we can get back to doing what we love. So if you've already gotten in touch, bear with us but we'll give you an update soon!

02.01.2022 Throwback to one of our favourite weddings from last year. Rhyannon and James got married on the family farm out in rural Victoria. It was such a chill day, everyone was relaxed and smiling, and just having a good time. We ate Paella and and churros, and even had a cheeky beer to end the night. We made friends with heaps of new wedding suppliers and tried to downplay that we were still relatively new to the industry (I don't think anyone noticed...). ... That night we stayed in a little motel room and watched Indiana Jones on TV while backing up the wedding photos. It was a good day. See more
