17.01.2022 ***FOR NEW COACHES WHEN REGISTERED AND ASSIGNED TO A TEAM*** As you may be aware, in recent years the game has introduced the Community Coach program, which provides our coaches with the knowledge to deliver age and stage appropriate experiences to players and is guided by the latest available evidenced-based coaching practices. The purpose of this email is to inform you of the process of how your coaches gain their accreditation under the new program. Pleasingly the educati...on fee has been amended to make coaching more accessible to our volunteer coaches with all online learning being provided free of charge, which is complemented by a face to face workshop carrying a small fee of $20. To complete the accreditation and registration requirements, coaches should complete the following: Coaches start by registering with their club via www.playrugbyleague.com/register Coaches then complete an age-specific Community Coach eLearning course that provides them with a temporary accreditation allowing them to start working with their team. This eLearning is free of charge and is designed to allow coaches to start their accreditation in an accessible and affordable way. The eLearning can be accessed by clicking here To complete the accreditation, coaches will register and attend a Face to Face Workshop that corresponds to the age-specific eLearning, for a small fee of $20. These separate workshops are delivered to Coaches of 6-12-year-old’s and also coaches of 13-18-year-old’s. Coaches will only need to attend the relevant workshop/s specific to the age category they are coaching in once. Note: Coaches coaching in the 19s+ age groups will only be required to complete the eLearning, attendance at a workshop is optional. Once both components have been completed no later than the 30th of June, coaches will be provided with a 4-year accreditation. This applies especially to teenagers entering their mid to senior years in high school, when health and fitness falls down on the priority list.
