25.01.2022 New, by me. What happened to rock? Why does it no longer have anything relevant to say? To understand, we need to look at what it was saying just before it vacated the mainstream.

19.01.2022 Woke up this morning to the sad news of Geoff Emericks passing. He was a great engineer and friend, and even though The Beatles had many great engineers over t...he years Geoff was the ONE. He was smart, fun-loving and the genius behind many of the great sounds on our records. I worked with him after The Beatles and it was always fun and the sounds he managed to conjure up were always special. Having seen him earlier this year when he came round to our studio Im shocked and saddened to have lost such a special friend. God bless you Geoffrey - love Paul. x See more

12.01.2022 Beethoven was said by historian Paul Johnson to be the first to assert that the artist was the arbiter of public morals, that he spoke for "suffering humanity". It is claimed that during a meeting with the poet Goethe in Teplitz in 1812, Beethoven lectured him that he should not hesitate to be rude to nobility, and demonstrated it by walking through a group of aristocrats while an embarrassed Goethe took off his hat in respect and stepped aside. "They might be able to hang a decoration around a mans neck... but they could not make a Goethe or a Beethoven. Therefore they must be taught to respect what they cannot make" Carl Rohling, Incident at Teplitz, 1887
12.01.2022 This is a project that has been in the wings for a little while that I can finally share with you. Its all good news for lovers of smooth rock and 70s classics. Live dates are coming soon!

09.01.2022 This has been one of my best-received Instagram posts, an impromptu version of Always Remember Us This Way from this years remake of A Star Is Born.
09.01.2022 2018 was a year I didnt have any clear goals for. I was still rediscovering my artistic voice after a big shift in my approach to songwriting. Something has changed in that department, because I have a very clear idea of what I want to do in 2019. I have set myself a goal to write a song that I will record and add an orchestral arrangement to, by the end of the year. Obviously it has to be a song that will be suited to such a treatment, and something Im proud of. (Love the ...music, or fix it until you love it.) It means hiring an arranger, and the players for the session. Do I record it in a studio or a concert hall? I also have other music goals planned for the year, but this the one that excites me and feels edgy. Im going to share the journey via email on roughly a weekly basis, and Id love for you to be a part of it. Interested? Let me know where to send them by heading over to my website: http://dunmoremusic.com
09.01.2022 Hey, this looks important. Quote - MUSIC INDUSTRY WORKERS, MUSICIANS AND FANS! WE NEED YOUR HELP!... On Saturday, 25th of November, teams of volunteers visit every live music venue in the CBD and inner-suburban music precincts to conduct a Live Music Census. They record whos playing, whos working, and whos there to see the gigs. This information will provide invaluable data that will help drive home the cultural, social and economic importance of live music in this city as it confronts the world-wide tension between live music and inner-urban development issues. Even if you arent seeing live music on Saturday the 25th, we still want to hear from you! We are asking any musicians, live music lovers, venue owners and operators to fill in a survey online to gather data on the Melbourne music scene more broadly. Each survey completed is an entry to a prize draw including everything from merchandise to festival tickets. These surveys will stay live for the next couple of months and you can fill them in here: http://musicvictoria.com.au/mlmc Join the facebook event below to stay in the loop!

06.01.2022 I never thought I would see this happen! Richard Ashcroft hasnt made a cent from his most famous song in spite of being the sole author of its lyrics, in the 22 years since it was released. Rolling Stone magazine wrote "Ashcrofts song famously sampled an orchestral cover of the Rolling Stones The Last Time, and a lawsuit from former Stones manager Allen Klein shortly after its release forced him to hand over 100 percent of the royalties from Bitter Sweet Symphony to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. This ruling has always been patently absurd Jagger and Richards had nothing to do with the dreamy string section that Ashcroft sampled, nor with Ashcrofts original lyrics and melody but its stood for more than two decades, until now"
