21.01.2022 Happy new year all! We are very pleased to let you all know we have received between 2 and 6 inches across Dunraven since Christmas Eve. The country is looking lovely and green and great for the soul Although it looks great, its important to know the drought isn't over, we will need more follow up rain to grow our dominant Mitchell grass. What you can see in our paddocks right now is lots of lovely soft green feed like pig weed, button grass and roly poly. The last 8 years of drought has certainly taken its toll. We are so thankful for the rain we have received and are praying for more wide spread general rain across all regional areas over the summer

09.01.2022 #barcaldinetagalongtours are back in action! We had so much fun today with Brown's and Horan's, we could have kept talking for hours. Our tours are back to running Tuesday and Friday mornings at 9am. If these times don't suit you, we can do private tours by appointment for groups of 4 or more. The tag-along tour around the property covers around 30km and takes about 2.5 to 3 hours depending on what's happening. The tour is "off-road" so preferably you'll need a 4WD but we c...an alter our route if not. We hook you up with two-way radios and off we go! Every tour is different, but we usually stop to see property activities from shearing to mustering and fencing depending on the season. We'll check out our working Artesian bore and enjoy Roberta's famous smoko at the shearing shed. You'll learn about the unique bush and landscape and maybe see roos, emus and some of the hundreds of bird species that call Dunraven home. Children are more than welcome and depending on the time of year you may get to feed the lambs and Mizzie our pet roo. Cost is $25 per person. 06.01.2022 When we have to raise poddy (orphaned) lambs they remain our pets for the rest of their lives. They love living just outside the house yard and sometimes it seems they think they're a little bit more human than sheep. Like yesterday, they got into the house yard and expected to come into the garden to be fed just like when they were lambs. To their dismay, there is no more milk in bottles or grain around here .. for them anyway!
