21.01.2022 It's school holidays I love it because it gives me a chance to work on my own music, it also gives me a chance to work on new lessons for my students. This is more important than ever because students demand more these days. After thirty years of teaching I never stop finding new ways to engage students. It's great to see students take control of their own learning via the internet and in turn they demand a different focus. The new skills the learn often need some refinement, we get there in the end

15.01.2022 I've been teaching music for 33 years. Thing's have changed over time. When I first started there was no online learning, no YouTube, no tabs. Basically if people wanted to learn unless they had a friend they went to a teacher. Now there are many different options. These options are fantastic. However technique is something very important in music. Guitar Elbow, or a Tendonitis of the wrist, thumb or fingers, you can all too easily develop one of these painful injuries from playing guitar or any other stringed instrument. This is where a music specialist is important.

11.01.2022 I've been asked this question many times recently so I thought I would write out an explanation. Should a young student learn guitar or ukulele? It depends really I teach both. The good news is that it's really easy to convert because the finger position are identical on the bottom four strings. Do it's probably an advantage to select a teacher that can teach you both because with guitar you need your finger position to be right. It's a bit like building a house start right, end right.
