24.01.2022 Have you taken 10 minutes to fill in the Cultural Interpretation Survey? This survey will shape the look and feel of the Cultural Precinct - what themes and stories are important to tell or see in the buildings? Heritage? Dark history? What would you like to see going on in the area? https://yoursay.busselton.wa.gov.au//cultural-interpretati

22.01.2022 The next stage of the Djiljit Mia Community Gathering Place project is the all important rehabilitation of Dugalup Brook. The creek will be cleaned out and cleared of non- native growth. But first there are 900 plants to go in to reinforce the banks!! Thanks to Dunsborough Coast And Land Care for driving this initiative. If you've been enjoying the park and surrounds, please lend a hand for an hour or so on Sunday morning. Teach your kids to care for our special environment. Love to see you there.

15.01.2022 Community Bushfire Communications - please read, and if right for you, click on link ... Last month Yallingup-Dunsborough Bushfire Ready prepared a brief survey regarding community bushfire communications. They received an overwhelming response to the survey (some 540 responses), and this enabled them to prepare a detailed report on the strengths and weaknesses of the current communications processes. The report has been shared that report with senior personnel from DFES and ...the City of Busselton, as well as various community and fire brigade leaders, and the findings will be used to continue to drive better communications. One of the surprising findings of the survey was that over one-third of the respondent landowners in the Yallingup-Dunsborough rural-residential area advised that they do not receive regular communications from a Bushfire Ready Street Coordinator. To assist to address this communication gap as much as possible, a dedicated, centrally-managed "unassigned community members" mailing list has been developed. This mailing list will be an adjunct to those presently managed by the 60 or so Street Coordinators around the district - it will not duplicate any of those local lists. If you live in a bushfire prone part of the district, and you're not connected to a local Bushfire Ready group and accordingly you do not receive regular communications from a Street Coordinator you are invited to join the new "unassigned community members" mailing list. You can do so by clicking on the following link http://eepurl.com/g7GkkT Please note that as with all Bushfire Ready communications this mailing list will not relay emergency warnings - these will continue to be posted at https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au/. If you join this new mailing list and it is noticed that there is a Street Coordinator for your area then your contact details will be forwarded to that person so that you have an immediate and more personalised local contact. 11.01.2022 Ian from Rotary Club of Busselton-Geographe Bay presented the Dunsborough Food Network with $500 of Coles vouchers. It’s gone a long way to helping a number of families. And so many good people who have provided their garden produce, their time and their smiles when delivering.

06.01.2022 Thanks to the 740 LEGENDS who signed the rezoning petition at the Dunsborough 2030 stand at the last two markets at Dunsborough’s Lions Park. You’ve been heard!... Councillor Riccelli is to introduce a motion to lower height levels along Geographe Bay Rd and the next step is to persuade councillors to support the motion. We’re not done yet! Councillor Sue Riccelli said she will be introducing a motion at the February 10 council meeting to recode the R80 (15m/4 story) lots along Geographe Bay Rd. to R60 (12m/3 stories). This is in response to the petition presented to council Wednesday signed by over 740 City of Busselton electors (that’s YOU guys!) At the recent DAP meeting the City of Busselton’s Director of Planning told the council such a motion should wait until the Activity Centre Plan is finished however, Tony Sharp, on behalf of the DPA, declared "by then it could be too late, as we know developers are out trying to buy property along the road and it will definitely be too late for the apartment complex along Seymour Park. He said the DPA is keen to work with the city on reviewing height limits throughout the town, but the stretch along Geographe Bay Rd could not wait and thus the motion should be supported ASAP. The Seymour Park complex goes to the Development Assessment Panel for a second time in the next month or so and any change of zone coding would not be retroactive. The motion could however influence the decision makers as there is another COB regulation that limits building height to 2 stories within 150m of the high-water mark. If that regulation was enforced, then a four-storey building would be disallowed.
04.01.2022 The City of Busselton - Local Government have organised some awesome free family activities over the school holidays
