23.01.2022 Durack on Fire There was no roast or shrimps on the barbie But there were sparks flying at the Durack Annual Festive meeting, brekkie in style, this year in the ambience of the Duxton hotel.... Was Meeting Toastmaster Robyn on fire or was that a morsel in the frying pan! Or was it grand entrance fanfare staged by guest Linh. And Durack took this opportunity to raise awareness, who, what is Toastmasters, with banners on display and speaking out, in public. Was this entertainment, some patrons raised eyebrows, and curious looks but there were no protests! President Gil Toasted happiness and health and Simi inspired with Words of wisdom, another of her thoughtful stories encouraging members to value what they have in Perth. It was an Agenda with a taste of the usual temptations, Table Topics Speeches and evaluations with breaks to enjoy the buffet smorgasbord and networking- All the ingredients of a healthy, tasty and fully-satisfying meeting. Past members joined in the celebrations, friendships were renewed, stories shared and opportunities explored, with Ash snapping the enclosed photos. A picture paints a thousand words! Then the clock struck 8 and it was time to say farewell, see you at the Speechathon meeting next Thursday across the road at home base, the Grosvenor Building.
