19.01.2022 A report released by the Offshore Wind Industry Council (OWIC) and the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult said the UK has the right nexus of factors - a strong industrial base, world-leading academic research and offshore wind capacity potential to produce low cost, sustainable hydrogen without CO2 emissions from water electrolysis. OWIC Industry Chair and DEI Advisory Board member Benj Sykes (pictured) said offshore wind is on track to become the backbone of our ele...ctricity system. That role becomes even more important as it becomes the power source to make low-cost renewable hydrogen at scale. The UK needs to build full-size pathfinder projects as soon as possible to secure our position as a world leader in this exciting new combination of innovative technologies.
