25.01.2022 Practicing for Dance Rites 2020.

25.01.2022 Today we participate in the National Sorry Day/Reconciliation Event at the Colebrook Site in Blackwood. To the organisers a job well done rain; hail and shine it was an awesome event and all those who braved the cold and came out it was an event not to be missed. Listening to songs, stories, poetry and dance bring tears to those who have had direct memories from what took place with the Stolen Generations Story. Let our healing begin.

23.01.2022 So after a big 2 weeks the DFM had again gone into schools to celebrate NAIDOC 2019, and during this week have participated in various events within the region - Pt Augusta, Adelaide, Port Pirie and Whyalla. Now they are looking forward to having a break and enjoying the rest of the school holidays. Tonight most of the dancers are off to the NAIDOC Youth Ball and we trust that they have fun as we are so proud of their contributions throughout the Week of celebrations. Standing strong and proud and doing their bit through stories told through contemporary dance about who we are as Aboriginal people but doing it through the eyes and lens of our youth. Our stories must continue to be told and this is a small part of ensuring that they are.

23.01.2022 Reconciliation Week Grounded in Truth, Walk together with Courage saw the DFM group participated in events throughout the week.
