In short the festival originated in Aztec culture as it was thought disrespectful to mourn the dead and it was better to celebrate and cherish the memory of the dead. 05.01.2022 They say a picture can say 1000 words!!! Like the little guy in these photos, we can all be going through some rough times, and a little battered & downtrodden at times in our life. Challenges come our way everyday, some we can tackle head on and get through with strength and courage, other times, we don’t quite have the strength or mental energy at that point in time.... In these times it is harder than we think to reach out and ask for help. We might feel ashamed, or embarrassed, whatever the reason, know that you can say I’m not doing so well. The stigma surrounding mental health is slowly being broken down but still to many people in this country both rural and urban are taking their own life. Please don’t feel as though your problems are not worth talking about. There is a hand there to help. Let’s work together and break down this stigma and let everyone know #itsoktonotbeok. Getting back to the photos, like this little guy looking a bit rough and worse for wear. He is still able to soar and rise above. Although you may not believe it you can too. Let’s all check on our mates and make them know for certain, they can ask for help. That help can be nothing more than a chat. But that chat may save a life.
