22.01.2022 We've been experiencing major internet issues this last week, apparently Telstra is working on nbn updates in my area, it's almost impossible to send and receive emails, the internet keeps dropping out so please be patient if I can't respond to your messages! Becky ** update: spend an hour on the phone with Telstra: on top of that, it looks like my modem is toast so they'll send me a new one... **
21.01.2022 Started the Obedience Plus course last Saturday in Bunbury and Donnybrook, looks like everyone had a good time! Thanks to Tenaya for forwarding me some photos of the Bunbury class, I usually don't have time to take photos so it's much appreciated!
19.01.2022 Home visit 17/12/20: teaching old dogs new tricks! Poppy (16) has the habit of getting very aggressive when visitors arrive. Sunny and puppy Blue follow her lead and yip, bark and run around and won't calm down... mayhem!! Good to see that they all responded very well to the training...
18.01.2022 Many have told me they're missing the stories about the dogs I'm working with. It's been so busy, so many home visits and private lessons, but I'll try to post some stories again! Today, Phoenix was booked in for a private lesson. An one year old retriever who is very boisterous at home and wants to do his own thing on the walk. Provided the owners with strategies how to drain his energy and how to walk him on the lead... from a sniffing, pulling dog to a calm and following dog! Well done Phoenix!
18.01.2022 I'll be on annual leave from Monday 21st of December until 4th of January, so the business will be closed for 2 weeks! Thank you to all my students, vets, vet nurses, schools and pet shops for your ongoing support, hope to see you all in the new year! Merry Christmas, Becky Tess, Skye, Ceska and Ivy
16.01.2022 How cute is little Koda? Home consultation this morning teaching this 11 week old Rottweiler puppy general manners and not to bite hands, feet and pull the laces of my shoes!
15.01.2022 DOGGY MANNERS : This course is designed for dogs that are over excited and find it hard to calm down and focus. Quite often, these dogs are jumping on people or respond to a trigger on the walk (a car, another dog, a person, a bird etc.) and get very worked up to the point where the handler has no control over the behavior any longer. So we’ll have to teach our dogs to control their impulses/ their response to that trigger by staying calm(er). 4 week course / $100.00 * BUNBURY: Saturday 28 November 2020 (first lesson at 11:00am, the rest of the course at 09:00am)
14.01.2022 Cancelled appointment this afternoon, I've been busy though! New obstacles for focus exercises for the doggy manners course!
13.01.2022 Brand new Dutchfield course: DOGGY MANNERS: * Everyone likes a calm, polite and attentive dog. A dog needs to learn how to behave at home and in public. Good dogs are fun to be around. A dog that’s well behaved and always under control will get out into the world and experience life. They’ll be happier and you will be happier! * This 4 week course is designed to work on doggy manners around people, other dogs and traffic. Some of the topics in this course are: - Teach your do...g to politely wait when you open the door, gate or car - Jumping on people - Pulling on the lead when out walking - Politely taking food/treats or toys out of your hand - How to correct biting and nipping - Control around visitors - How to meet other dogs - Calming a dog down that is overexcited / Impulse control - Good etiquette out in public Most will see a difference within one or two sessions, but it does require a commitment from you. Owners who are committed to the training program in its entirety and are prepared to practice a few short sessions each day will get a better outcome than those who don’t. Working together, your dog can learn to listen and quickly become the dog you always hoped for. * 4 week course / $100.00 * Bunbury: Saturday 28 November 2020 at 09:00am
10.01.2022 We still have a few spots left in the Doggy Manners course starting tomorrow, Wednesday 13 January at 6.00pm in Bunbury (Adam Road school oval)! In our Doggy Manners course we'll focus less on obedience training but more on everyday situations at home and out in public: waiting before going in and out of the door or car, jumping on people/visitors, focus and concentration, how to calm down an over excited dog, walking without pulling, meeting other dogs, nipping/biting and correcting unwanted behavior. So the focus is more about control. Contact Becky to enroll: [email protected]

01.01.2022 This morning, we had Layla for her 3rd private lesson, a 3 year old rescue Rottweiler x Ridgeback. Showing huge improvement with the recall and walking on the lead. Today, we introduced another dog (my Ivy) as Layla gets too worked up when she spots another dog. Working on her confidence, walking side by side and Ivy walking (and running!) towards Layla! Good job Layla for staying calm!!
