24.01.2022 Just over a week ago, two young men from Armidale, Tom Campbell and Shuku Sunzu, took on & conquered a marathon distance (42.2km), running to raise money for the Armidale Sanctuary Humanitarian Settlement organisation and specifically for the ‘Digital Connections for Armidale’s Ezidi Community’ project. The Armidale Sanctuary assists individual and family refugees settle into their new lives in Armidale, a huge step in their recovery from traumatic events in their Ezidi com...munity in northern Iraq. They were forced to flee after militants destroyed their homes and many had family members that were killed, enslaved or kidnapped. The DDB is a proud donor to the Armidale Sanctuary and we congratulate Tom and Shuku on their fantastic achievement. Well done, guys! If you’re interested in donating to help our local refugees, please head to: www.armidalesanctuaryhumanitariansettlement.com.au

07.01.2022 We were extremely proud to make a donation to the Rural Kidney Association this week. Our local parkrun and DDB friends, Nicki & Neil, are the founders of this amazing organisation that helps to improve outcomes for people in NSW throughout their journey with chronic kidney disease. Our donation will assist those needing to travel for dialysis with accommodation expenses or contribute to the RKA’s Norm Bourke Boxes containing some essentials which they ship out to rural hom...e dialysis patients. We love your work Nicki & Neil! Thanks to Simon Scott Photo for the lovely pic.

01.01.2022 2021 has arrived rather quickly! We have some exciting news coming your way about this year's DDB so watch this space. Prior to the holiday break, the DDB organisers were very proud to make a donation to the Women’s Shelter Armidale (WSA). WSA is an organisation acting to empower women to access and maintain safe, stable homes and to build and maintain independent lives, for themselves and their children, free from abuse and characterised by responsible self-determination.... The team at WSA provide a valuable community support service and they do amazing work on behalf of women in the whole of the New England community. We appreciate everything they do. If you would also like to find out more, or make a donation, please check their website http://www.womensshelterarmidale.org/ (photo: Lee-Anne from DDB with Sam from WSA)
