24.01.2022 Well, looks like the sign "Archery in Progress" will be put to use tomorrow...we are able to re-open, but ahead of that was our working bee today. A huge thanks to David M, David A, Mike, Bruce, Nigel, Nasser, Mark, Daniel, Pete, Reece, Stan and Jan for all their hard work getting everything tidied and ready to go. The shooting line looks a little different as we have had to remove all the shadecloth, due irrepairable damage from the weather over our shutdown. It will be replaced in due course.

24.01.2022 Sat 21 Nov we are holding a Field Course working bee to start getting targets 1-12 ready for shooting. We are still under capacity cap of 10, so you must register to attend. https://dva.tidyhq.com//32039-practice-sessions-working-be

18.01.2022 MORE INFO ON BOOKINGS Seems there are some misunderstandings regarding the bookings. a) If you book a time your time starts at that time. So lets say you book 11-1. Your 2 hour time starts at 11 regardless of what time you arrive. If you arrive at 12:50, you have 10 minutes to unpack, shoot, packup and leave. ... You don't get 2 hours from what ever time you start shooting. b) You can not be on the range before or after your allocated time. So you can not arrive at 10:30. Unpack and then stand around till 11. Also you must be packed up and GONE by the time your session finishes. So if you are booked in till 1pm do not shoot your last arrows at 1pm and then start to leave. This is not a friendly reminder, this is a requirement to shoot at the club until further notice. - Club President.

18.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own Mark Slade for his Grand Prix win!

17.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own Caitlin Howden for her Grand Prix Championship for 2019!

15.01.2022 MEMBER UPDATE Some exciting news .... from tomorrrow Sun 29 Nov, attendance caps have been raised to 50 on the outdoor target range, and 50 on the Field Course. Masks are no longer require outdoors as long at social distancing of 1.5m can be adhered to. Session registration and time limits on the outdoor range and field course will no longer apply. You will have to check-in however under the new attendance requirements. Our Indoor Range and Club rooms [including the to...ilet] will also be open for use [the kitchen will not be available, and there will be no tea and coffee provided, hot water will be accessible]. The vending machine will still be available. Masks are compulsory in the clubrooms and indoor range except when you are actively eating drinking or shooting your bow. 12.01.2022 Great news .... we have now been given clearance by Nillumbik Shire Council to return to the Club. However, before we can there is maintenance work to be done, therefore we are holding a working bee on Sat 7 November, with a plan to be able to resume shooting on Sun 8 November, for members only with a cap of 10 people at any time. Our return to shooting has some very strict conditions in place, and an email with all the full details together with our updated Return to Play d...ocument will emailed to the membership base within the next 24 hours. It is important that everyone read and understand these conditions. As we have a number cap for the working bee, if you are able to come and assist, you must register to do so at the following link. Each person must register separately, for contact tracing as per DHHS and Council requirements. https://dva.tidyhq.com//schedule/events/31673-working-bee- The working bee will be from 12:00 midday and should only take a few hours. For shooting practice - we will be operating as we did when we were able to re-open last time, with 2 hour practice sessions. Registration for these sessions will also be published in the next 24 hours, and instructions on what to do, and a link for the registrations will be provided. The Committee thanks you for your patience whilst we have been working to get the Club re-opened. *** IMPORTANT NOTE - please remember that currently the 25km distance rule is still in force, so if you live further than 25km from the Club, please do not attend the Club until this restriction has been lifted ***

12.01.2022 The Indoor Range and club rooms are ready to go tomorrow. The Indoor Range is set up to adhere with 1.5m social distancing. The target faces are spaced 1.5m so please do not move them. If replacing faces when shot out, ensure you put new faces in the same places. Do not move the cones as these are also placed for adherence to the 1.5m distancing. In the Club rooms, the tables and chairs are also set up for social distancing, so again please do not move them.... Please remember the kitchen is not available, and please wipe all surfaces after yourself including the bathroom. Antiseptic wipes have been placed in the bathroom, club room and indoor range .

12.01.2022 Congratulations to DVA's very own Lucy on her Grand Prix win!

12.01.2022 Further to the post from AV earlier today, please be patient for a little while longer. We are not able to reopen immediately ~ we need to wait on further advice from AV, as well as having our COVID plan that has been submitted to Nillumbik Council approved before we can head back to the Club. As soon as we have further updates and advices we will let you know. DVA Committee

06.01.2022 Some moves to practice in lockdown ... on your own or with your family. At least these archers are (almost) practising social distancing, their measurements might not be accurate. Stay safe everyone.

04.01.2022 Please note.....

03.01.2022 Our very own Myffy Howden in the spotlight today. Congratulations on all your achievements and on making the State Team once again. The Club is very proud to have you as one of its members.

02.01.2022 We're saddened to hear of the passing of Jo Mufale, mum to junior member Sam Mufale. Our condolences and thoughts to Jo's family Santo, Sam, Will & Alex.

02.01.2022 ** Information for DVA Members : Following the announcements earlier this week from the VIC Government, we have also received the guidelines for opening up from Archery VIC, and as advised previously our COVID plan has been lodged with Nillumbik Shire Council. We are waiting on confirmation from the Council allowing us to re-open, along with any specific requirements that they may have, but until we receive the OK we must remain patient.... You may see that some other Clubs are opening this weekend, please be considerate to the fact that all Councils have different processes and some may work faster than others. Nillumbik have advised that they have a large number of community sporting venues which they are inspecting, to ensure that the COVID plan lodged by each of those clubs is adequate to the Club and venue. The Council have also advised that there may be delays, and to be patient. Once we are cleared, a working bee will be required before any attendance and shooting can occur, but please be assured that we will be working hard to get the Club up and running as soon as we possibly can. With thanks, DVA Committee
