16.01.2022 *** CHANGE TO OPERATING HOURS *** For some time we've been officially closed on Thursdays, though you'll often catch us sneaking out an email, responding to questions, offering support and taking orders. Not a big change but Wednesday will now be our official day of closure, rather than Thursday.

12.01.2022 *** DVS EMAIL SERVER ISSUE - RESOLVED *** Between 2:00PM 22/4/2020 and 9:30AM 24/4/2020 our domain and email hosts had an unexpected, un-communicated, unacceptable and poorly-responded-to outage which saw us unable to send and receive email. Any email sent to us during this time was not queued, but simply bounced.... While we are still chasing the root cause, the issue has since been resolved. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience during this period.

10.01.2022 DVS 1997 Volvo V70T5 project car. December 2020 - It's hard to believe that the last Volvo project car we had left us almost 5 years ago. ... Since then, we've had a Focus XR5 project and with that wrapping up and us doing no further development of our own for that platform*, the question was what to get next. We're really big Volvo fans and the P80 platform is definitely a favourite. So.... after a 5 year break... here we go again. STARTING POINT - stock 1997 Volvo V70T5 auto. * Black exterior * Cream leather and suede interior * Sunroof Its a really solid starting point with decent history and a previous loving owner.

09.01.2022 *** COVID-19 UPDATE *** Hi all, just a little update on what's happening here and how we're working in times that are constantly changing. Despite an unexpected day off on Tuesday this week, we are still open.... We are still making up our own DVS branded parts, though anything we make to order will be impacted by a slow-down in our supply chain and as a result of the third parties we work with adapting to the current world situation (social distancing, less people working per shift, etc) Where possible, we've taken steps to manage and help with delays in turnaround times already. * Fasteners supply - We now have an additional supplier here so that where our primary supplier may not be able to supply a particular fastener, we can source it via the new supplier. * Powdercoating - Powdercoating lead times are longer than we've previously seen. The two powdercoaters that we use are both very good and have similar lead times. They're doing the best they can and we're attempting to set expectations accordingly. Sometimes we're a little off here, please bear with us. * CNC machining - CNC machining currently has long delays. This means that our ability to supply our 320mm brake conversion adaptors is impacted. We're trying to pre-empt sales so that we dont get to a point where we have extended periods where we cannot supply them. * Nickel/Zinc coating - Turnaround times are currently quite good. * Laser cutting - Turnaround times are currently quite good here too. * oem and replacement parts supply - The supply chain is slowing a little here but we have multiple partners who we can source from. Other than freight times (to us and to you) there are no current changes. There do not appear to be any significant issues with supply. * Genuine Parts supply (Volvo, BMW & Ford) - No current issues in this space, but we are conscious of how quickly that can change. * Shocks (include parts & custom orders) - Shocks themselves generally dont seem to be much of an issue yet, though we'd expect the supply of small service parts to be impacted at some point. Custom orders (incl GAZ products) typically run to a build timeframe anyway, so we'll provide updates on these during early stages of an order and set expectations accordingly. Here's what we're doing - * Absolutely no pickups of orders - all orders to be shipped to you. * We are closed Wednesdays and we will be more strict in adhering to this as it provides more time to ensure loved ones are ok. (On Wednesdays, you will not get a response to an email, call or PM). * We will call you back only if you leave a message. 09.01.2022 *** COVID-19 UPDATE - SEPT 2020 *** Hi all, just another update on what's happening with us and how we're working in times that are constantly changing. Largely, it's business as usual - we're still churning out our own DVS branded parts and supplying a range of great products from other partners.... We're doing our best to mitigate issues as they arise but we've got a couple that, try as we might, we just can't do anything about - * Freight and postage - Surprisingly, this hasn't been an issue for us until the last month or so. All services we use - regular postal services, air freight and couriers are considerably slower than what we used to consider as normal. We'll set expectations as best we can when we process your order and keep you updated in the event that we're made aware of delays as they happen. * External services - We have some amazing partners that we work with regularly who do all of the things that we can't do in-house. For the most part, we've worked with them all for many years. Not only has the COVID situation had an impact on us, it's had an impact on these partners too. In some cases, they're running split shifts, have fewer people working at a given time and they're going to some fairly extreme lengths in their sanitising processes. The result of all this is that they're turning around our orders in extended timeframes. Again, we'll set expectations here as best we can too. The things we're doing at the moment (at DVS) are as follows - * Absolutely no pickups of orders - all orders to be shipped to you. Anything over $100 in value will require a signature. All orders will have tracking. * We are closed Wednesdays and we will be more strict in adhering to this.
