24.01.2022 QUICK REMINDER TO KEEP HYDRATED!! . Your body perspires to cool itself down during exertion, which means you lose water during exercise. . You can lose excessive amounts of water during a one-hour period of exercise, so you'll need to replace that water or face the effects of dehydration. . (No body wants that!) Although, water isn't the only nutrient you lose during exercise. Sweat also contains both sodium and potassium (why the yucky salty taste when it goes in your... mouth), which can be a concern during longer periods of exertion, such as a marathon. So having BCAA products in your water with electrolytes and hydration properties may come in handy when working out in summer! 16.01.2022 Training Pointers for Beginners at the Gym! Walking into a Gym can be very intimidating if your new, but with these few pointers it’ll help you build confidence to achieve your goals. Don’t worry about what other people might think of you. Start off with 1-3x/a week full body workouts. Prioritise Compound movements.... Set a performance goal. Stick to medium- high reps for the first few months. Keep a training Diary. Find a support group (eg: bootcamp, Mum’s group) or training buddy. HAVE FUN!! Continue reading for more info Don’t worry about what others might think. Everyone started as a beginner at some point , most people are too busy focusing on them selves anyway. Start off 1-3x full body workouts. You should focus at this time to improve movement and technique, recruit experience and build habit. Workouts should be built around compound movement variations, eg: squats, bench press, deadlifts and chin ups. If you should find yourself having enough strength to do some of these, replace with assisted exercises to build strength. Keep a Diary to help track your progress in weights and performance aka, reps and sets. So in your next sessions you can build and increase the work load. Find a support group or training buddy that’ll help keep you motivated. Sometimes it’s ok and helpful to have a little bit of healthy competition. HAVE FUN!!!
