25.01.2022 "When asked during the election campaign why she was picking a fight with the churches by committing to Voluntary Assisted Dying legislation, Ms Palaszczuk said that at the end of the day, this is a choice for individuals. And she was absolutely correct. If a person's religion teaches them that VAD is wrong, they are free not to participate in it. They have that option. But they should not have the ability to dictate the value choices of people of other faiths."

24.01.2022 Marshall Perron, former chief minister of the Northern Territory, writes: "Two weeks ago, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk set voluntary assisted dying at the centre of her re-election campaign. She announced that Labor would legalise voluntary assisted dying if it won the election. As expected, it triggered a campaign against her by the Catholic and other churches. But what could they do against a savvy politician representing the clear will of the people? In Queensland, as in Tasmania and virtually every developed country in the world, an overwhelming majority support voluntary assisted dying. Australian opinion polls have shown this for 40 years and support has kept getting stronger."

21.01.2022 Congratulations, Tasmania! Voluntary Assisted Dying legislation has passed the Upper House and will now be referred to the Lower House to be debated.

21.01.2022 "New Zealanders will now have a choice about how they die if they have a terminal illness - a choice that my late wife was denied" - Matt Vickers

19.01.2022 The need for Voluntary Assisted Dying is urgent. This is one of many reasons why.

18.01.2022 Voluntary Assisted Dying. It's about choice!

17.01.2022 Today our Vice President Craig Glasby met with his local MP Jonty Bush - Member for Cooper. We were very pleased to hear Ms Bush is actively engaging with her electorate on Voluntary Assisted Dying - she is currently running a survey and door knocking locals about it! So far, over 90% of respondents have indicated they support VAD. ... Ms Bush is keen to ensure her elected is represented when VAD goes to a vote and wants to make sure the legislation passes in its best form. We look forward to working more with Ms Bush over the coming months. 14.01.2022 "A Voluntary Assisted Dying law will protect those individuals such as doctors and other medical staff whose actions in giving patients terminal sedation have scant or no legal protection."

13.01.2022 Some people might think that the anti-VAD stand of the Australian Medical Association means all doctors oppose voluntary assisted dying laws, but they would be wrong.

13.01.2022 We all deserve the choice to seek a dignified death when faced with terminal illness and intolerable suffering! My life, my choice, your life, your choice!

10.01.2022 Sir Patrick Stewart is right! We all deserve the choice of a dignified death when faced with intolerable suffering and terminal illness!

08.01.2022 Why should Queenslanders have to suffer a bad death if they don't want to? If somebody is terminally ill and suffering intolerably, they should have the choice to access Voluntary Assisted Dying!
