07.01.2022 Hi everyone, Please find attached the draw for the Campdraft Cutout event this weekend (Sunday 30th August 20). The planned start is 8.30am (ish) and registration will be open from 7.30am. ... As always, you will need to provide Horse Health Decs and Event Waivers which can be downloaded from the links below. It would be very helpful and very advisable if you complete them prior to Registration to minimise congregating at the canteen area given the new COVID-19 restrictions. https://www.dwhdc.com.au//Dayboro%20Horse%20Health%20Decla http://www.dwhdc.com.au//Dayboro%20Horse%20Event%20Waiver. As you will expect given the recent new COVID-19 Restrictions announced by the State Government the club has to demonstrate that we have a COVID Safe Plan in place and more importantly acting on it. At Registration you will be required to either scan a bar code on your phone at the canteen and register at the event or fill in a piece of paper with your name, address and contact details (your choice). This will ensure we can provide contact tracing information if required to do so. Please work with us to ensure we keep everyone safe, some of the requirements are frustrating but we need to ensure we are compliant and able to hold events such as these for our members. A copy of the DWHDC COVID Safe Plan will be available on our website in the next couple of days at www.dwhdc.com.au If you have any questions please contact us via the Facebook page or email to [email protected]

05.01.2022 Good mix of dogs & handlers at our training day from young beginners to some experienced hands. Thanks to Billy for capturing the day and to all attendees for a good day.
05.01.2022 It is our job to educate our hands and our legs so that we can align the horse’s body. That means working on our feel, timing and balance every day. Your feel, ...timing and balance will increase the more you ride your horse, but be warned, you can ride horses every day of your life and not become a very good rider. It’s a matter of studying these elements. It’s generally considered that one cannot teach feel. I won’t dispute that, but I do know that feel is certainly improved by awareness. Your feel will increase by being more aware of what’s happening down through your seat and your legs and the more obscure parts of the horse. Most of us are readily aware of what’s happening with the horse from his shoulders forward because it’s in front of our vision. We’re less aware of what’s happening behind our legs and seat because it’s not in our line of vision. This is where we need to be more conscious of feel. One of the ways you can do this is to count the cadence in your horse’s feet. Becoming more aware of your horse’s foot fall will give you a greater sense of feel. -Ian Francis See more
