24.01.2022 My #radiusshawl is coming along nicely @dr.elby.knits I’ve used the broken wrist as my naming inspiration It’s a simple combination of garter rows, stripes, left and right slanting lattice pattern with an assymetrical triangle construction. I’m so excited to offer these small #japaneseknotbags which have been made especially for #dyeingtoknit They easily fit 2 skeins, and my latest shawl project. They are lined with Calico to give them some body. ... I’ve just listed them on the website. I’ve only got limited numbers to test the water. 23.01.2022 My lovely helper came over yesterday afternoon so we could dye some of the beautiful new Merino Linen singles base! Honey Pot is a delicious warm golden honey colourway with a slightly heathered look created by the linen. Limited quantities are available until I can get back to dyeing full time myself.... This base is perfect coming into Spring for a light shawl or summer tee #dyeingtoknit #merlin #honeypot

21.01.2022 I’ve had the pleasure of test knitting #serissashawl by @mindfulmaking It was my first time knitting with mohair, and I think I’m now obsessed!! It looks like a billowy cloud and it’s so soft. I used extrafine Merino Silk in colourway Nude, and Almond Nougat mohair lace. The pattern is due for release next month.... It is a lovely shawl to knit. I had to modify the size of mine because of limitations with my wrist, but am really happy with the end result. #dyeingtoknit #testknitting #sosoft #neutral

20.01.2022 These are the last of the Denim Collection (back) Faded Denim, Just Denim and Wrangler on Luscious Sock. I had my 6 week checkup with the surgeon and I’ve got another 6 weeks to go Time now to strengthen my wrist and arm to be able to lift the pots safely. 15.01.2022 Do you sometimes just want to knit without constantly following a pattern? I’m making this up as I go along and making notes in case I write it up later. I’m using a basic construction that I like to wear, added sections of lattice, and now I’m striping. Loving Selkie and Grapevine together. 09.01.2022 Quin is modeling the start of my #foragersweater by @lilalu72 I cannot tell you how much I’m loving this yarn!!! As soon as I saw the pattern, i knew I needed to make it using Merino Silk Yak DK in it’s natural Undyed state. It is so beautifully soft and silky with a lovely twist, perfect for the faux cables which run down the front, back, sleeves and sides.... 05.01.2022 I’m trying to make some changes to my diet this summer. As I’m heading closer to 60 it’s getting more difficult to keep my weight down. I discovered @health_with_bec through my GP. I’ve been following her all year but didn’t feel ready to take the plunge. So with hubby down south for a few days, I’m trying one of Bec’s recipes from #3weekbodyreset ... This lighter version of a Caesar salad was delicious!! I added a small amount of chicken and added a creamy avocado dressing from another one of her salads. I’ll definitely be making this for Mr DTK when he’s back!!! #dyeingtoknit #caesarsalad #healthylifestyle

04.01.2022 These gorgeous wildflowers inspired one of my colourways last Spring ... Everlasting Daisies I think I definitely need to dye this one again. Such a pretty white and pink flower with a yellow centre. I’ve been walking orders to the post office and I pass this on the way. It’s a neighbour’s front verge covered in them. 02.01.2022 My #radiusshawl is hot off the needles and ready for blocking but I couldn’t resist taking some pics first. I was worried that Selkie wouldn’t shine with the mid section in Grapevine. It really depends on how you wear it, which I must confess I’ve never been good at. I enjoyed making this so much, even though it’s quite simple. ... 01.01.2022 This is my first time knitting with self striping yarn from @louley_yarn and I think I’m obsessed!! I knit these from the vanilla sock pattern that I’m do from memory. I matched one of the pink minis in my stash perfectly. I’ve already cast on another pair.
