21.01.2022 Started as a hobby. Then became a passion. Now it’s a career. Honestly can’t see myself doing anything else and can’t wait to see what comes next

19.01.2022 Throwback to testing day. Finishing off a day of pb’s with a 160kg deadlift

15.01.2022 SQUATS Along with Bench Press and the Deadlift; the squat makes up the 3 principle compound lifts. The squat is an absolute necessity in any gym program. Aside from being an effective exercise for developing and strengthening the power body, the squat has many other advantages including: Building core strength: As a full body exercise, the squat places a high demand on the core to provide strength and maintain balance throughout the movement. As your squats become heavie...r, the demand on your core increases, as will strength. Improves flexibility: As a result of moving your body through a full range of motion, you boost your flexibility. In a squat you improve the flexibility in not only your legs, but your back, hips and improve ankle balance and mobility. Improve posture: If you feel yourself hunching, or as if your posture isn’t as good as it should be, squat! Squats have been shown to dramatically improve posture. As the squat requires good form and technique, over time you will feel yourself become more aware of your posture and stance, inside and outside the gym. These are just a few of the many reasons why the squat should be apart of your daily gym program For more training tips or advice feel free to DM me as I’m more than happy to help

10.01.2022 ANXIETY AT THE GYM The gym can be an intimidating place. Whether you’re new to the gym or an experienced lifter, everyone will experience anxiety at the gym at a point. When I first joined a gym, I was terrified. Self conscious and in a new environment, I felt lost. However, over time I have learnt to ignore those feeling and focus on myself. I have discovered that other people in the gym aren’t there to judge others, they are also there to better themselves. If anxiety... is holding you back at the gym, try these tips: Plan your workout- go in with a workout plan and know exactly what needs to be done. Focus on your workout- Ignore all distractions. Focus on yourself and what you’re doing. Consult with trainers- If you’re unsure about an exercise, consult with a staff member, personal trainer or a coach. They’re here to help. Stop comparing yourself to others- everyone is at a different stage of their fitness journey. Don’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 10. We all have to start somewhere. Celebrate the victories- remember to the time to celebrate the victories. This could mean an extra rep, a higher weight or hitting a PB. These small victories will only increase your self confidence and will leave you feeling excited for your next session. Remember: YOU ARE YOUR ONLY COMPETITION See more
