24.01.2022 Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation was developed in Prague (www.rehabps.com) by rehabilitation movement Professors’ Vaclav Vojta, Karel Lewit, Vladimir Janda, and Frantisek Vele. Once the USSR opened up to the rest of the world these assessment and treatment modalities have spread across the world. It is ground breaking assessment in the treatment of muscles, joints and nervous system. The major premise of DNS is faulty movement, and improper joint stabilisation becoming t...he source of most painful conditions of the musculoskeletal system. DNS uses the developmental milestones of a child's development to create stable, aligned joints, core stability, ideal posture and flawless movements into exercises to remind the brain of it's efficient ways to move. Our bodies often compensate trying to keep up with demands we place upon it, leading to improper movement patterns and injuries. Let's show the body how to do it right!

23.01.2022 Has someone mentioned to you, you have a weak core? Or you need to work in your core? What do you think "core" consists of? People often come to me saying "but I do planks, side planks, sit ups" etc. They still have lordosis (bottom pokes out) sore lower backs, hamstring issues, tight traps and more. A core should consist of activating your DIAPHRAGM and abdominals and back muscles. You want to create pressure from the inside like a soda can. When the can is full you can s...tand on it and it won't break. Empty the contents out and it will crumple. Much like our bodies. Creating Intra (inside) abdominal pressure will help with the internal (inside) spinal stabilising system so your back is protected too. Once you master this diaphragmatic breath you've got HUGE power as this evenly spreads the loading providing a stable platform for all your limbs to move from with out the body grappling for support else where. Let's breath people! See more

23.01.2022 Power comes from coordination and stability. Bulk only gives strength in 1 range of movement, not 3 dimensional.Power comes from coordination and stability. Bulk only gives strength in 1 range of movement, not 3 dimensional.

21.01.2022 When I first came to DNS the first thing I was taught is how to breathe properly, from the diaphragm not my shoulders. This is the foundation of every movement creating "core" stability. 1 million sit ups will never be as good as a working diaphragm.

21.01.2022 What does DNS treatment look like? Much like a physio gives you rehab exercises to do at home, so do I. These exercises are based on kinematic chains developed in your first 18 months of life. These are innate in us like reflexes. No one teaches us how to sit, crawl or walk. I remind the brain of its original efficient ways to use it's muscles, not the ineffecient way your body wants to, creating wear and tear, injuries and pain.

21.01.2022 This about sums it up Because our bodies are all integrated by our kinematic and fascial trains, one chink in the chain can cause stability issues and dysfunction expressed else where. Let's find it and fix it

20.01.2022 ACQUIRED POSTURAL PATTERNS Wrong training postures result in structural changes. As with pain, the body will anticipate it and create an alternative muscle pattern. Both accumulate over time causing tissue damage and like a water drop on a stone, over years or decades it will damage tissue. That's why you were doing great, until one day you weren't doing great. The body can't keep compensating in suboptimal patterns because damage will occur.

16.01.2022 THERE IS NO POINT BEING FAST IF YOU KEEP GETTING INJURED Our bodies create many compensations over time to deliver the demands we place upon it. Over time this becomes wear and tear... injuries/pain. The off season/ preseason is a perfect time to establish great foundations and habits to excel in the up coming season. LETS CREATE SOME POWERFUL MECHANICS!

16.01.2022 You know you don't need to be an athlete to receive treatment I assess and treat everyone. Dynamic neuromuscular stabilisation can be a great alternative if you haven't had luck with other treatment modalities.

09.01.2022 Dynamic neuromuscular (core) stability is necessary for optimal athletic performance and is not achieved purely by adequate strength of abdominals, spinal extensors, gluteals or any other musculature; rather, core stabilization is accomplished through precise coordination of these muscles and intra-abdominal pressure regulation by the central nervous system. Understanding developmental kinesiology provides a framework to appreciate the regional interdependence and the inter-l...inking of the skeleton, joints, musculature during movement and the importance of training both the dynamic and stabilizing function of muscles in the kinetic chain. The Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) approach provides functional tools to assess and activate the intrinsic spinal stabilizers in order to optimize the movement system for both pre-habilitation and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and performance. International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy 8(1):62-73 February 2013

09.01.2022 One of the most incredible things about utilizing DNS as an assessment and treatment plan is that it is applicable to every kind of person or athlete. Whether you are a golfer, swimmer, CrossFitter or triathlete, the roots of athletic movement are the same stability before mobility. I assess and treat for: Activation of deep core stabilisers pelvic floor, transverse abdominus, multifidus, diaphraghm and deep neck flexors. -These muscles act as stabilisers of the skeleton...: most importantly the spine, hips and rib cage. -The muscles prepare and activate milliseconds before we move and support our joints. I can teach you how to integrate these highly important muscles into your sporting movements such as running, jumping, landing, swimming, twisting and tackling. I use the principles developed at the Prague School of Rehabilitation which ‘re-wire’ the body into a more effective and economical system. These methods will teach you how to stabilise your important joints and how to use your ‘power’ muscles correctly.

08.01.2022 NATIONALS TIME!! Wishing all our athletes the very best over in Sydney. I'll be watching you on Aths TV

08.01.2022 Did you know DNS (dynamic neuromuscular stabilisation) is complimentary to massage, physiotherapy and chiropractic care. It can help treatments last longer. Once you have had muscles released or realigned it is important to offer the body an alternative stability, otherwise the brain will keep using the same muscle patterns to find stability.

07.01.2022 Why do we lose these innate movement patterns and get injured? Well there are a few reasons: The brain adapting to a pathological reason, like a broken bone or sprained ankle. The muscle strengthened in poor alignment, loading the body too quickly. The body will use what ever muscle is strongest to get the job done. Anatomy - structurally born different, or corrected through surgery. ... Developmental delays or developing too quickly. Abnormal development Coached incorrectly It can all be helped with a few targeted exercises. See more

07.01.2022 Lol, this is me in my hey day (pre social media). I used to be an athlete too, which started my interest and passion of the human body. The body is incredible and fascinates me, I will always be an eternal student. I wanted to help people so I completed my Bachelor of Science and Nursing degree, then became an Athletics coach, a Yoga teacher and have 3 certificates in Dynamic Neuromuscular stabilisation.

06.01.2022 These champion athletes all subscribe to DNS. They were not only at the top of their game, they also had jevity.

02.01.2022 INJURY PREVENTION TRAINING! Every body changes and adapts for better or worse. Sooo...Let's talk a little about spinal hygiene If you don't give the body input it will randomly choose what is EASY for it's self. ... Strong muscles get stronger or not using muscles get weaker. So whether you sit at a desk all day or an elite athlete you need to provide the body with correct input and maintain a healthy body system Starting at the breath helps
