15.01.2022 Why tune a modern-day sports bike? Lets face it - you dont need any more power so what is the point? Actually there is a large point. Now more than ever modern motorcycles need to be tuned and corrected not just for the exhaust and decat you just fitted, but to remove the popping and banging that leaves it running rough down low, the snatchy throttle action, (no middle ground between on and off throttle), making the bike difficult to control in traffic. The steady cruise is...sue where it feels like someone is pulling in the opposite direction or theres a constant light but noticeable hesitation all the time at 80-100 km per hour. Heres another common problem, trying not to unsettle the bike while attempting to roll the throttle on smoothly midway through a corner. And what about the heat the engine is generating making it uncomfortable to say the least. These are all common issues with out of the show room bikes and made more apparent as soon as you change the exhaust and air filter. None of this has anything to do with how much power the manufacturers claim and rectifying these and other similar issues probably wont improve that claimed figure much, if at all. However, it will make the bike a damn sight nicer to ride, inspiring confidence and putting a big grin on your face as opposed to a grimace when you crack the throttle. Tuning is not about how much power it will have at 14000rpm, it is all about turning a good engine with potential into a great one that you are totally in control of. If you have heard of, seen or spoken to a business in NSW claiming and talking about "INVISABLE" tuning of motorcycles, (funny, they have no experience in this industry BTW), proclaiming no-one can see the tune, not even the manufacture because its "INVISABLE". They are making unsubstantiated performance claims, I strongly advise you WALK AWAY! But wait theres more, not only is th...e software "INVISABLE" but the person in England who is behind it also appears to be "INVISABLE". Having been brought to question no-one seems to know where he is now.... There isnt any documented graphs because they too are INVISABLE", the dyno wont pick up any changes because its INVISABLE", the 02 sensor on the dyno wont read it because its...... you guessed it INVISABLE!!. Seroiusly! This is the stuff of fiction people, Starterk, Terminator, Starwars, the list is endless. Come on, think about it. See more

05.01.2022 Heres what Euro 5 looks like. Not one, not two, but four 02 sensors. One before the cat and one after it. So why is that? The one before the cat is standard on most vehicles. The 02 sensor after the cat (Euro 5) is to measure exhaust gass again making sure the cat and the first 02 sensor have done enough to remove that nasty carbon monoxide. If they havent then it tells the ECU to make further mapping adjustments.
