25.01.2022 Thank you to our friends at Accor for inviting us to #polointhecity. Brisbane vs Hawaii, with our home town winning! We had such an enjoyable time and beat the heat with crisp & cold #DiabloGingerBeer cocktails! A nice way to end our recent hectic times of running four conferences in the last six weeks! #AccorLiveLimitless

25.01.2022 We are working on a few virtual events for the first half of this year, but gee it's so nice to be managing traditional face-to-face dinner meetings again! For next week, we already we have over 50 Gastroenterologists registered to attend the first of a series of educational dinner meetings, to be held at Darling & Co., Paddington. We are streaming it live for those in the regions or who wish to attend from the comfort of their laptop! www.gesq.org.au

24.01.2022 The echidna is the subject of many masterpieces, including this little creation by Jennifer’s little nephew Ethan.

23.01.2022 In the spirit of giving at Christmas time, we have made a donation to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief & Recovery. Our donation will be put towards the much needed support given to those tragically affected by the bush fires in our regions.

23.01.2022 Appreciation for the recent hospitality shown to us by Destination Gold Coast aboard an impressive floating destination of its own.......The Yot Club! COVID-who?! Jayne & Jennifer loved being out & about again, physically mixing with their industry peers, venues and suppliers, being updated about the wonderful Gold Coast as an event destination.

21.01.2022 This is interesting to watch. It is a one minute time-lapse video of a recent virtual meeting that we ran for a group of Gastroenterologists. The world of meetings is really embracing this virtual concept. Sponsors of these medical meetings are keen to support them because currently it is very hard for the reps to visit their doctors. These virtual meetings are a way of still "being seen" and remaining current in the industry. Normally, this particular meeting would have been held at the Sofitel Brisbane with a maximum capacity of 50 guests. At one point in the virtual meeting there were over 150 people tuned in and viewing, with the ability to join in on Q&A. Virtual meetings can open up a world of new guests! :)

21.01.2022 A word from one of the international guests at our upcoming conference, SIES.

20.01.2022 Anouk Degand & Mathieu Degryse, Gaelle is truly such a talented artist. (Tell her that Jennifer hopes an art talent scout on Facebook finds this!)

19.01.2022 Meme theme tonight! :)

19.01.2022 COVID may have cancelled our events for 2020, but whilst the goalposts have changed and the stands are empty, that won't stop e-Kiddna from bringing the action live to everyone's laptop via "virtual meetings". In fact, virtual meetings open up more of an audience .....globally! We have been approached by various clients and sponsors of conferences to manage their events & meetings on a virtual basis. Our state of the art software enables us to do this easily. Times have changed, and let's hope 2021 is back to normal, but for the time being we are playing in the virtual arena! :)

16.01.2022 Recently we managed another virtual meeting for the Gastroenterology Society of Queensland. This time the theme was Liver and the production took place in a COVID-compliant room at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. The key to virtual meetings is to keep them short, sharp & interactive. We don’t want delegates getting virtual fatigue. Soon this may be a term included in the Oxford Dictionary!

15.01.2022 TRIBUTE to PETER BISSELL....... Very recently, a dear friend to e-Kiddna, Peter Bissell, sadly passed away. Peebo the clown (Peter), along with his twin brother Dagwood (David) entertained the children of our delegates at the GESQ Noosa Update conference 10+ years. Peebo & Dagwood were a regular highlight at the conference's poolside welcome reception, in the Kids' Corner. Half of this time was when the conference was the GESQ Coolum Update (until Clive Palmer bought & r...uined the Hyatt Regency Coolum Resort, then we moved to Noosa). Peebo will be imprinted in the minds of so many children across Brisbane and Queensland, and Australia! He was one of the most positive people we have come across and his zest for life was inspirational. Peter lived with cystic fibrosis and both he and twin brother David were recipients of double lung transplants when they were teenagers. Peter defied the odds for so many years, he was in an out of hospital for most of his life. Last year we paid him an impromptu visit after a conference meeting with the Transplant Nurses Association which happened to be only a couple of hallways away at the Prince Charles Hospital. We have such fond memories of Peter. We will miss the poolside drinks and banter after his clowning sessions at our conference each year. It's ironic that this year's GESQ Noosa Update has cancelled because it just wouldn't be the same without him onsite. Long live our memory of Peter clowning around! See more

13.01.2022 Amazing! Virtual meetings certainly create global opportunities. We opened registrations only three days ago for the virtual meeting below and already we have over 1,000 people registered! Large Rectal Polyps must be in demand to watch and discuss..... for certain people!

12.01.2022 Echidnas are such incredible creatures. Read below to learn how they bury themselves in the ground for protection whilst the bushfire passes over them.

11.01.2022 e-Kiddna Event Management wishes you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and safe 2020. This artwork was created by a very talented and dear friend of ours, Gaelle, 13yrs old.

09.01.2022 Jayne, Jennifer & Jo have just finished washing up after rolling out the last conference for 2019, held at the InterContinental Hotel, Double Bay on 16th November, the annual SUGSS Meeting for bariatric surgeons. There were 127 delegates and 47 sponsor representatives in attendance. The date for 2020 has been set for Saturday 14th November when it all happens again.....but first J,J & J need to come up for air after an extremely busy year!

08.01.2022 Sadly, with less than a fortnight until our biggest conference of the year was due to commence, we are not proceeding due to advice from health officials regarding COVID-19. The Sydney International Endoscopy Symposium attracts over 500 health professionals and 250 sponsor representatives each year. We are deeply saddened that this has cancelled. So many people have been affected in so many ways. Flights, accommodation, work schedules, exhibition displays, hotels, venues, caterers, freight companies, printers, AV, the list goes on..... RIP SIES 2020

07.01.2022 Down but not out! Another e-Kiddna conference not proceeding due to COVID-19. This group of liver surgeons has decided to postpone their June conference at Rydges Southbank, to another date later in the year, yet to be confirmed. We truly hope COVID-19 has settled right down, or has been beaten by then. Again, lots of work now to "undo" what we have put in place already. We will continue to 'dig & burrow' with optimism!

06.01.2022 This meme has been making its way around our industry circles lately. We had to share it in case someone hasn't seen it yet! Hopefully it puts a smile on your dial! :)

06.01.2022 The Legacy Defence charity event, normally has up to 1,000 guests at the convention centre but due to COVID, we were at City Hall last night with 232 guests. Legacy does such a wonderful job in providing care, support and financial assistance to families who have lost loved ones who served in the Army, Airforce or Navy. Many families’ loved ones have made the ultimate sacrifice in combat or have died from other causes whilst serving and protecting our country. Long live Legacy. Jennifer Reeves Jayne Caswell

06.01.2022 With regret, today we announced another cancelled conference, this time for Gastroenterologists, the annual GESQ Noosa Update. 2020 marked it's 24th year, and e-Kiddna has been managing this conference for 20 years. Another victim of COVID-19. We were most impressed with the way the Sofitel Noosa Pacific handled this situation. We will be back bigger and better in 2021!

06.01.2022 VIRTUAL MEETING Tonight 7:00pm In these 'uncertain times', tonight we are managing our first 'virtual meeting'. It is for the Gastroenterological Society of Queensland (GESQ). We will be live streaming the meeting at 7:00pm from a 'COVID-friendly room' at the PA Hospital where a group of leading Gastroenterologists will be presenting on "Gastroenterology in the era of COVID-19: Moving forward in uncertain times". You are welcome to join us, if you like (it is complimentary). Virtual Meeting link: https://aarnet.zoom.us/j/97302134748 Password: 208230

06.01.2022 "Where's my delivery?".....There are no more boxes left in the loading dock."......I have a copy of the delivery confirmation.".......My equipment is worth $150,000, where is it?" These comments sum up a typical "bump-in" scenario at conferences. Experience has taught us that when all else fails......take a peek out the back, in the hallways of the hotel's kitchen, and sure as eggs you will find the missing delivery! It's a fun game to play..... not really!

05.01.2022 Our biggest event of the year is approaching....the Sydney International Endoscopy Symposium (SIES), where over 750 people gather for three days of ENDOSCOPY in overdrive! :)

04.01.2022 Jimboomba Heritage Precinct Open for Hire! Recently we were approached by a new unique client, not our typical medical conference client! We have a strong family connection with the Rotary Club of Jimboomba, our hometown in Queensland. Apart from the wonderful community work Rotary does, the club owns three historic venues and has asked e-Kiddna to promote and manage these beautiful old buildings for hire. We have a sentimental attachment to these venues. The Jimboomba Co...mmunity & District hall is where our Mother & Father first met at a dance in 1962, and where we learnt ballet back in the ‘80s. Jennifer’s daughters have since learnt ballet in the hall too! Dorrington House is where our Grandfather’s cousin, Dan Begley was born back in 1922. And, the Little Brown Church is where we were confirmed as children back in the ‘80s when it was the Jimboomba Anglican Church. With the wonderful assistance from a local web designer, Tanya Euler at www.artifexstudio.com.au, Rotary now has a brand new website to showcase their venues for hire www.rotaryjimboomba.com.au, and venues can be booked via our event management software connected to the website. We are creating awareness so that the local community knows that these venues can be hired for private, business or community events. Rotary has invested a lot of time, energy and funds in restoring these venues to their former glory. The hall now has state of the art AV equipment, is fully air-conditioned and the toilets and bar are newly renovated. The 2021 calendar is filling up with local celebrations, awards nights, corporate meetings, community classes and other functions keeping these beautiful old buildings alive!

04.01.2022 Recently we ran our first Virtual Conference, unlike the smaller virtual meetings that we have become familiar with. This virtual conference had all the elements that a typical onsite conference has, such as a socialising hub, speakers, panelists, live Q&A, live polling, even a virtual exhibition! It was for an ANZ association of Hepatic, Pancreatic & Biliary surgeons. 185 delegates & 46 exhibitor reps from around the world gathered for this event which ran for 3hrs each Th...ursday across three weeks (to avoid "virtual fatigue"!). Our software, OnAIR was given extremely positive feeback compared to some other virtual platforms in our industry. It was a new environment for us, we could compare the live days to being behind a stage in a live television production! A few curly moments with speakers being "live and on air", but no disasters! We ran rehearsals for all speakers and also gave a live rehearsal to the exhibitors inside their virtual stands. Although it was a very interactive and successful event, we do miss the onsite face-to-face conferences, and we are certain the delegates and exhibitors do too! Moving forward out of the COVID era, we are confident that onsite conferences will return, perhaps with a virtual element also - HYBRID! See more

03.01.2022 For a while now we have been working on a complex "virtual conference", that will go live next month. It's never going to beat traditional onsite face-to-face conferencing, but when COVID gives us lemons, we make lemonade! :) This conference has all the elements that a traditional face-to-face conference would have, yet it will be purely virtual. We have very sophisticated software called OnAIR. Below is a 'explainer video' that we send to sponsors & exhibitors so that they can visualise how their virtual exhibition stand will look and what it can do.
