19.01.2022 Bee-keeping may be about to change for ever, looks like it'll be great news for us and the bees!

17.01.2022 Bee season not far off guys, if U R allergic, elderly or have children please be aware of the risks that exist when a bee swarm decides to establish themselves close to you! Also many business owners use our prompt service to rid their buildings of bees each year limiting the risk to customers and others nearby. We have a very prompt low cost call out service to solve any bee issue, we will firstly assess if the bee swarm can be re-located without the use of any insecticide o...r harm to the bees, although many times the swarm will have moved into an inaccessible cavity and will require eradication. Our low priced bee service involves the use of a very safe dry powder application that is less harmful than coffee although very effective with bee control. 'Bee Treatments' undertaken by others in the past have presented a situation where building owners now have toxic chemicals within their walls and ventilation systems etc., bee control products only need to be active for a very short time (throughout the bee season not for years and years into the future) please always insist on the safest of treatments in line with our current modern pest control practices! For the most prompt, low cost pest control service call EP Pest on 86 823985! See more

15.01.2022 Another busy morning so far on this beautiful winters day in Port Lincoln. Certainly an odd time of year 2 B busy in Pest control, the bugs usually slow down their choppin of buildings and pestering of ppl this time of year! At this rate we'll be looking in a couple of months to increase our staff level again if the right type of enthusiastic, energetic & happy person can be located. The right person will see that Pest Control is a trade like no other in regard to the outdoors aspect, interaction with ppl, the gaining of a genuine professional ability to really help people & save buildings. Just putting it out there, not quite ready yet, although if work continues to increase like this all's lookin good for another full time position soon!

11.01.2022 Whilst the posts on this page are far from regular, this E.P Pest facebook page exists almost solely to give local people important local pest control knowlege, and to clearly show that our professional experience & advise has been vastly unmatched in our area since 1979. Over the last 35+ years we have had various "professional" companies start up (with varying customer 'sales methods') selling their wares, "special guarantees", "latest methods", "amazing new systems" and t...he "much cheaper & more effective options", only to shut shop and disappear a few years later. 15-20% of our work comes from the re-treatment of these very same properties, where previous advice/ knowledge and guarantees are null and void. Your home is one of the most important investments in life, and we stress to you, to please do your own research. For example, if your told or given the impression by a "professional" that termite bait stations will not allow termites to destroy your home, properly reasearch the info eg. http://www.syix.com/emu/html/sentricon.html#PCO or similar. Also please understand our company does use termite baiting but only in isolated situations for colony destruction and never for professional complete protection of stuctures! So many people on the E.P. have parted with many thousands of dollars for a limited system they do not understand. The link is well worth the read, make your own mind up and please spread the word! 08.01.2022 WARNING 2 ppl across the E.P. that have or are about 2 have termite monitoring/bait stations installed at your property, you must read below! (AND TELL OTHERS) We've just spoken with another upset customer, making it more than a dozen now, that say they were recently misled and charged over four thousand dollars ($4000) for a dozen or so stations that we can buy for less than $18 dollars each from our suppliers! These customers have said that they were told that the 'system' ...will protect there buildings from termite attack by eliminating the nests but will need expert inspections to work properly (costing more than $600-$700 to inspect each year). THE TRUTH IS AS FOLLOWS ; These stations simply have wood inside that all termites can simply go straight past, they are cheap to buy and install, anybody with the most basic knowledge can spot if termites happen to find them and THEY DO NOT ELIMINATE THE RISK OF TERMITES DESTROYING A BUILDING! In fact there is a species of termite that is currently attacking homes on the Eyre Peninsula that is next to impossible to even control with baiting (Heterotermes)! One marina home was recently quoted $5000 for bait stations and they had 'Heterotermes' attacking their home! These inexperienced operators are selling their wares across the E.P. to make enormous profits and are obviously targeting ppl that are willing to believe the sales pitch without looking further into it. It's this simple, people are paying huge amounts of money to have some guy, that knows only the basics, look at some bits of wood for them, thinking that their home is being protected! A small fraction of the money that these people are parting with would pay for a professional termiticide barrier that controls all types of termites and provides a proven protection for many years! Always do your research and get quotes/advise from more than one source. It is unlikely these customers can get their money back now, PLEASE SHARE THIS AROUND 2 SAVE FRIENDS & FAMILY THOUSANDS! 05.01.2022 Bee problems are off to an early start this year with the slightest hint of warm weather! Our guys have already promptly fixed over 2 dozen bee issues in the last ten days with 6 so far today already. It's look'in like a bad season for bees, so if you have small children, pets or are allergic to bees, please be cautious of bee swarms! :)

05.01.2022 WOW yet again we've heard around town of the existence of certain pest company/s either promoting themselves as always using, or ppl are letting themselves believe that they always use a non-toxic organic spray to treat homes like nobody else. This is simply NOT TRUE and if any one is being told this please ask for a MSDS sheet that describes what is being sprayed. Properly licensed pest professionals know that such a thing does not exist and that any control substance that c...an legally be used can be obtained by any licensed pest controller not just a select few. In fact a pest professional that views safe treatments as their main priority would know that even the safest of control products need to be used by experienced persons and in conjunction with other methods rather than the indiscriminate spraying of walls, ceilings, household items and indoor areas where all family members can come into contact. Among the most common and safest products used across South Australia indoors by many pest controllers, is a product called 'Deltamethrin', it is by no means a 'Non-toxic organic' spray. As with any product it should not be used in excess in an attempt to 'Blanket treat' an entire building especially if the home owner/family is led to believe that it is non-toxic and absolutely fine over furniture, toys, food and food prep areas etc. We have nothing to do with these misconceptions getting around and we can assure you that we carry out extremely safe treatments with very safe products but it will never be our intention to tell you information that is misleading and untrue. Modern pest control can be an extremely safe exercise without trying to mislead ppl. Thousands of our customers, past and present, have seen first hand that the most safe and effective treatments are our speciality! Stay safe all :) See more

03.01.2022 Great 2 see the building of new homes increasing again on the Eyre Peninsula. We've been termite proofin the ground beneath new buildings for more than 30 years and we were super busy as we took over the business from Dad in 1999 with quite a slow down 2 or 3 years ago although in the last few months busy, busy, busy again :-) Seems there's an increased enthusiasm 2 build and live in our beautiful part of the world!
