To build muscle you need to be in a calorie surplus, (some more than others), foods more dense in calories will aid you in not always needing to eat huge amounts of volume to hit to calories 2. Guys you all know the physical health benefits, but do not forget how important a strength and fitness routine, as well as regular contact with your trainer and our community, is for your mental well being! With the right combination of bodyweight exercises you can maintain and build your streng...th. You can also use basic home gym equipment such as free weights or resistance bands to increase the difficulty of the exercises. You can definitely get the same results with home based training!!! The number one key to successfully getting results is following a workout program consistently. Once you start to form a fitness habit, you can learn about how to select the appropriate rate of perceived exertion to boost your training benefits. We are all living under restrictions and altered circumstances... maybe, like many, it has started to wear on your mental health. This is normal of course, but its now more than ever that we may to realign our focus on some strategies to help keep our minds healthy. I had the pleasure of chatting to life and wellness coach Tom Millwood who gave some inside tips he uses with his clients. Here are 3 strategies you can implement right now to get yourself in a good head space; 1. Movement- Get those happy hormones flowing, anything from dancing, to running and anything in between. Something to get you out of your head and into your body. 2. Mindfulness- Take control of the way you breathe, become aware of your surroundings, and take note of the sounds you hear, just to be in the now and slow it down. 3. Mindset- Find your something to get you in a positive state. Could be dancing to one of your favourite songs, releasing your emotions through a punching bag, watching a favourite comedy move or special. As you all know gyms are back on 22nd June!!!... However, at this stage there will still be NO group classes running out of the gym. I know you have all missed the fun, the sweat and the social aspect of boot camps. As soon as we can, and as soon as it safe, we will get going again.
