22.01.2022 I took this photo last week. After months of planning a trip to help farmers suffering throughout a drought that seems to have no end, we got it done. We hired 4WDs, bought food, water and toiletries and catalogued over 2,000 (mostly donated) items. ... We visited Goondiwindi, Inverell, Texas, Tenterfield, Glen Innes, Killarney and other country towns. We ate out, bought groceries and went shopping in some of the gorgeous country stores we came across. When primary industries suffer, the towns suffer tremendously too. Fortunately we made it home before the true horror of the bushfires descended upon our beautiful country. We often talk about how small things can make a difference. It's true. You can see it in the eyes of the bloke in the corner shop when you bowl in to buy snacks and end up with so much stuff that you can't actually fit in the boot. You can see it in the eyes of the mother who works at the local dress shop who offers you a discount when you didn't ask for one. Over the upcoming long weekend, please consider visiting some of our drought affected regions. Fill your car up with petrol. Get a haircut. Pack your boot up with food and contact the CWA, who do a magnificent job. Have a steak and a beer at the local pub. Please, make a difference. #2020vision

21.01.2022 This photo was taken a few days ago by a NSW firefighter who didn't realise until the end of his shift that the soles of his boots had melted away due to the heat underfoot. At Eagle Street, we're proud to be Australian. That's why we've decided to donate 20% of our recruitment and executive coaching fees to Bushfire Emergency Relief. We'll be doing this for January and February, and we'll keep doing it for as long as we have to.... To give thanks to our heroic men and women in the national fires services (NSW Fire Service, Country Fire Authority (VIC) and the SA Country Fire Authority) we pledge 50% of all donations received. For those supporting our wildlife in these formidable and horrific circumstances, we pledge 25% of all donations to NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue & Education Service (WIRES). We salute you. To the beautiful members of the Country Women's Association, we pledge 25% of our donations. Your quiet resilience and love for your communities was humbling to see on our recent trip. It was 75 years ago today that the Soviet troops liberated Auschwitz, the date we now recognise as Holocaust Memorial Day. ... Never again.
