23.01.2022 Congratulations to Peter Maynard Iramoo Ward

22.01.2022 Diwali is the biggest and brightest festival for our Hindu community. While we need to celebrate differently this year, there has never been a more important ti...me to smile and celebrate the triumph of good over evil, purity over impurity and light over darkness This year it’s safest to celebrate outdoors, whilst remembering there are still restrictions on outdoor gatherings and the number of people in your home. From my family to yours, Happy Diwali.

22.01.2022 This morning I was pleased to join the Premier and Minister D'Ambrosio at Werribee Open Range Zoo, to announce that the upcoming Victorian Budget 2020/21 will d...eliver $84 million to transform Werribee Zoo into Australia’s leading open range zoo. This includes building a new home for the city’s much-loved Asian elephant herd, currently housed at Melbourne Zoo. The expansion of Werribee Open Range Zoo will create jobs in Melbourne’s west, boosting the local economy and attracting more tourists and more tourist dollars to our great community.

17.01.2022 Better get a lid on it!

17.01.2022 There is a Cover-up at Eagle Stadium and Wyndham Netball Association are trying to put a lid on it. Eagle Stadium is a modern indoor sporting facility that is home to both the Wyndham Basketball Association and the Wyndham Netball Association. The facility has twelve indoor courts and four outdoor netball courts. Both associations are bursting at the seams and as a result, many thousands of our local girls are forced to play their games outside every week. Now, Austra...lia is a beautiful country and we love the outdoors. However, forcing 25% of our competitions outside causes significant logistical and safety issues due to the uncertainty of our Victorian weather. It’s also simply not equitable. The City of Wyndham has foreshadowed new future indoor facilities to be built. However, these are both expensive and will take some years to complete and commission. Wyndham Netball Association has come up with a brilliant solution that facilitates the growing demand for Netball in the immediate term at a fraction of the cost. Rather than a replacement for the planned future facilities, this is an enhancement to the overall strategy around engaging our community in active sport and recreation. The project involves building a roof structure over the existing four outdoor courts and will cost approximately $1.8m to complete, effectively increasing the facility’s capacity by 33% and providing sport and recreation opportunities to thousands of young Netballers. So, join the Cover Up and help us Put a lid on it at Eagle Stadium.

13.01.2022 3 days to go!!! I repeat.... THREE DAYS TO GO!!!! As part of the fun, we plan to have music playing during the games of the festival.................. to save us from a certain someone taking over the playlist, send us through your song requests!

11.01.2022 Please Share I have lived in the Iramoo ward for the last 38 years , have 4 children and seven grandchildren. My long term volunteer involvement with local gro...ups and organisations supports my understanding of demands placed on growing families and residents , especially with the growth in Iramoo. I was elected to Wyndham Council in 2012 as your Iramoo Ward councillor and elected Mayor in 2014 2015 and 2017 2018. I have worked hard to put local residents and their issues first. This gives me confidence that residents have a strong and effective voice on council and your representative , I have endeavoured to keep you fully informed of council activities. I have chaired Councils Sports Development portfolio since 2016 and if re-elected I will maintain my commitment to community sport. A strong local Iramoo voice is needed to ensure local infrastructure and services are continually improved. I have been your voice since 2012 and I am seeking your support to continue my work for local residents and the whole of the City of Wyndham. I will continue to engage with residents to ensure your needs are put to State and Federal Governments for Local investment to attract businesses, increased jobs for Wyndham; completion of Ison Road/Geelong Rail Bridge to Princes Freeway; completion of Hobbs Road to Davis/Sayers Roads; No Toxic Soil in Wyndham; duplication of Ballan Road from Manor Lakes to Werribee Racecourse. I also commit to having a ward meeting in little river to further discus capital works and social services. We need additional bus services to complement existing routes and must ensure bus services to all new estates being built. Vote 1 Peter Maynard a vote for me is a vote for action, commitment, dedication and transparency. For further information visit @petermaynard4iramoo on Facebook, contact me on 0492906187.

04.01.2022 Household Bin Services We are aware of some delayed or missed bin collections under the first day of our new kerbside waste provider, Cleanaway. We ask resident...s to continue putting out their bins the night before their normal collection day and to leave their bins there until emptied. If your bin is already out, please leave it on the kerbside until it has been emptied. To report a missed collection, complete our online enquiry form. http://eproperty.wyndham.vic.gov.au//e/SubmitRequest.aspx Council is working closely with Cleanaway to ensure drivers become familiar with the collection routes as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience. Important things to know: There will be no waste bin collections on Christmas Day, 25 December 2020. Bin collections scheduled on Friday 25 December, 2020 will be collected on Saturday 26 December, 2020. Find my bin collection day https://digital.wyndham.vic.gov.au/myWyndham/ or download a Waste Collection Calendar and Map https://www.wyndham.vic.gov.au//Waste%20Calendar%202020-21 Place your bin out a night before your collection day Place bins side by side near the kerb with handles facing away from the road Leave 50cm space between bins and 1 metre clear of trees, light and power poles, parked vehicles and driveways. Ensure recycling bin and green waste bin are placed out on the correct day, as they are collected on alternate weeks. Bring your bins back to your property within 24 hours of collection Do not squash the items in the bin, this can result in the waste being jammed and difficulty when emptying Place waste inside the bin: extra bags or boxes will not be collected Make sure the bin lid can close and do not fill to more than 70kg If you live in a court, mark your bin with your house number and place it on the straight section of the street. Please do not park your vehicles in the court on the day of your collection as it prevents the waste vehicles from being able to turn and can disrupt collection https://www.wyndham.vic.gov.au//was/household-bin-services
