25.01.2022 A composite art photo with an amazing true story behind it ...

25.01.2022 Magical sunrise over Alice Springs yesterday ... merged panorama of two photos taken from Memorial Avenue Cemetery with Mount Gillen as the backdrop ...

23.01.2022 Mt Gillen through the looking glass from Memorial Avenue Cemetery this evening ... tee hee hee! Oh well! Why not?

23.01.2022 Happy World Environment Day today

21.01.2022 By way of introduction to what could only be described as an amazing Wedge-tailed Eagle encounter day, day two around carrion, Brewer Road near Alice Springs Prison six years ago today ... "The Orange Youngster's Story" audiovisual. Although I might well have seen the Orange Youngster and her family before this, it was at Brewer Road and from then on, I was able to positively identify The Magnificent Orange Female and Her (slightly lame, much older) Mate with their youngest... sibling at the time "The Orange Youngster" when I saw them together from this day. By the time she flew to her independence (following a torrid chase of by her father) on 26 June 2015, she was a magnificent orange bird just like her mum ... so amazing to have this story of her. Such an amazing experience to be present and open to her. Amazingly beautiful happenings, hey! I celebrate her today PS: The result of the 2015 breeding between The Magnificent Orange Female and Her (slightly lame, much older) Mate was a pair of clutch twins photographed around carrion, Santa Theresa Road, March 2016

19.01.2022 Not Eagles, but Black-shouldered Kites. Hoping you are keeping healthy, happy and safe in these weird pandemic times. Hope you enjoy ...

18.01.2022 "Don't look down, it's an impossible view; Fly like an Eagle whatever you do"

17.01.2022 What is there to say, hey?

16.01.2022 I've been doing solo social distancing around Araluen and Memorial Ave Cemetery for a while now. There is an extended family of ten Grey-crowned Babblers have been happily de-spidering and de-bugging headstone flowers and graves, then communal dust bathing in dusk out the back. Their antics are really quite delightful. At social distancing they are notoriously BAD ... tee hee hee! Because that is what I do, I made an audiovisual of the experience. The audio is "Simple Gifts" ...by Cooper Cannell (it was free to use from the YouTube Audio Library ... thanks Cooper) and I think while we are caught up in this global Corona Virus pandemic, it affords a time for slowing down, taking a breath and learning to appreciate the simple gifts and pleasures we in Alice are surrounded by, hey! The visuals and production are as always my privilege and pleasure entirely. A fun rewarding and productive way to occupy time while staying at home inside my house. I really hope you enjoy ...

15.01.2022 I am still very proud of this merged panorama photo of ten separate photos showing the flight path of the Wedge-tailed Eagle I decided that day was The Nut-brown Youngster on its way heading for Colonel Rose Drive from the open paddock under the flight path into Alice Springs Airport, 5 May 2014. Only the background was merged and while I was merging it, was amazed at how well the ten photos merged. A highly successful experiment. Wedge-tailed Eagle Compulsive Panning Disorder put to use at its very best ... yay! Yes, this photo was available on my market stall as a 45cm long panorama printed on only the best quality professional photo papers and using only genuine Canon inks.

15.01.2022 How to express in one photo the huge privilege and pleasure of going out seeing to the safety of Wedge-tailed Eagles around roads? I made this collage way back ...in 2013 (of course for AV ;-) ) ... it is composed of just some of the photos of the at least 14 individual Eagles I photographed in Undoolya, East Macdonnell Ranges in Spring 2013 while out seeing to their safety along Ross Highway. If I had my way, I'd still be out there looking after the safety of Eagles around Alice Springs roads. I doubt there is anyone in Alice Springs has been as privileged as I have to see them the way I have ... sigh!

13.01.2022 This is a general "Thank you!" to all those who have touched my life and been very kind one way or another. Made very early this morning :-) It is a composite ...image, of course ;-), of Fergus the little miracle Black Kite bub fledged late last year, in prolonged drought and heatwave conditions, from the nest above my carport; and the currently flowering Bloodwood Tree across the street. Don't want to single out any persons, some are still here, in real life or in virtual space, some on facebook, some not, and some sadly no longer with us but not forgotten. I reckon I've led a very charmed life. Thank you for enriching my life, hey ...

11.01.2022 "Fire in the sunset" an early attempt at art photography with very special meaning today. I took the photos of this orange youngster on the Brewer Road powerlin...es five years ago hey! It was a very grey day, and the photos weren't very good quality so I fiddled around a bit with them, used some art filters, and put them into some amazing sunset. When photographing Wedgies get to be part of some amazing sunsets as well and it felt like this one belongs in the sunset (as it does). This isn't just any old Wedgie youngster. I firmly believe this to be a road injured/rescued/rehabilitated/released by Wildcare bird. This was the last time I saw him and there's a story belongs with this bird ... hope he is out there enjoying the sunsets wherever he is :-) Feel very privileged to have encountered him, always solo, four times ... and there he is!

09.01.2022 Despite all that has happened the dream still survives ...

07.01.2022 Was available print A4+ size landscape mounted and framed on my market stall ... sigh!

07.01.2022 Thought for today ... we are all solar powered if you think about it. Such a lovely quote to go with this photo (I think so anyway ) Thank you Christina Mann

07.01.2022 The Pale-golden Youngster Wedge-tailed Eagle in flight 13 PNG images as an art photo 5 May 2014 ... six years ago today ...

05.01.2022 Happy leap day 2020 taday ...
