20.01.2022 18 years ago on 20.02.2002 I registered my first business fotoclips in New Zealand. So today 20.02.2020 we are celebrating!! Heres my award speech, just like they do at the Oscars. Thanks to my Mum, Sister and especially my co-owner Keith my husband for their love and support. ... Thanks to me Melissa Bradbury for following your heart and not your head all those years ago. For your hard work and determination. You are much harder on yourself than any normal boss would be! 14.01.2022 This month has turned into a reflective month for me, as there is a business anniversary coming up. This is the month that my life and career changed for the better many years ago. Where my hobby became my business and as the saying goes; Do what you love - Love what you do!! Since I was little I have always loved photography, my Dads box brownie was the first camera that I ever used and Im pretty sure that my next door neighbor plus her cat were the subject of a first phot...o. I then got my own camera as a Christmas present. Back in the days of rolls of film by Kodak plus the cube flashes! We were a traveling family for holidays, Dad worked for Air New Zealand, so we were lucky to get staff travel benefits. This introduced me to another love - overseas travel. Photography and travel I am hooked. Fast forward to the mid 1990s my Dad dies of cancer and the year later my boyfriend is offered a civil engineering job in Hong Kong, he took it, we quit jobs, sold everything and were off to live in Hong Kong! WOW Hong Kong didnt disappoint, it was amazing and my photography grew into an obsession/passion. My full time job, for New Zealand International Airlines now funded my loves; travel and photography! I joined the Cathy Camera Club; I traveled the world at every opportunity. I submitted many printed photos to the monthly Cathy Camera Club photo competition where a professional photographer was always a guest judge. It was at a Club meeting, when I told the group that I was leaving Hong Kong and returning to New Zealand after the horrors 9/11 that one of those professional judges said "why dont you do photography full time" the flame was ignited.

11.01.2022 Started the the day with a early morning BIG group meeting with great group of other business woman .. celebrating my milestone

11.01.2022 I had Dj vu when I photographed this property, I was stepping back in time to my childhood. It was like being in my own family lounge room. We had the same rock feature wall, wooden beams on the white ceiling, white net curtains, square opening into the dining room and same timber (Scandi type) furniture. The only thing missing from this image is the black and white TV! I wonder if there will be real estate photographers in 40 years time or will robots or google be doing what I love to do now!?
