17.01.2022 What is your trigger to leave? Leaving early is the safest option to protect yourself and your family. Leaving early means leaving the area before a fire starts - not when you can see flames or smell smoke. Your trigger to leave is what prompts you to act. You should use the Fire Danger Rating to determine your trigger. ... On Severe, Extreme or Code Red days you should not be in a high fire risk area. www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-prepare/your-bushfire-plan

10.01.2022 CFA has received a number of calls from community members regarding bonfires to mark the ‘Spark in the Dark’ event this evening. We appreciate those who are tha...nking our frontline workers, but urge you to keep fire safety front of mind. As today’s conditions are windy in some areas we are urging those who wish to participate to not do so by lighting bonfires or using fire pits. If you are choosing to light a candle, please ensure it is monitored by an adult and extinguished properly. You might like to mark the event by using a torch or outside light. Thank you and stay safe.
10.01.2022 One year ago today Eaglehawk Fire Brigade attended multiple calls on the first ‘Code Red’ Day for a number of years. With our Tanker responding as part of a strike team, our Forward Command Vehicle (FCV) being called to a grassfire to the north and our Pumper attending 3 jobs within a 1hr period. Whilst our Tanker and FCV were committed at their seperate incidents for some time our Pumper remained on station and crewed to support any new calls that may come in locally. If you live in a regional area at risk of bushfire and grass fires, we recommend to always leave the night before or morning of an Extreme or Code Red (Fire Danger Rating) day.
