20.01.2022 This is about exercising in a manner that would maintain physical health and wellbeing. This will take into account age and ability. This would see participation in exercise at least three times a week. It is important to note that excess or addictive patterns to exercising can actually be less serving for you if it is impacting on other areas of your life (ie spending needed time with the family, or making time for rest when needed). Activity: Write down your exercise form and routine and describe how that is supportive to your wellbeing.

15.01.2022 This aspect is about exposure to the four elements, fresh air, sunshine, water and earth. This allows opportunity for listening to and engaging with nature. This feeds intuition and insight. This is also about doing these things with awareness. Activity: Identify regular activities that would see you experiencing all of these elements several times a week. This could include exercise, transport, gardening, walking the dog etc. Also, write down what the evidence is that shows you are aware as you participate in these outdoor activities.
15.01.2022 It turns out our decision to shift to online training came at the right time given what’s going on in the world at the moment, and we are pleased to announce that the development is coming along nicely and we should have some training dates available in the very near future! However, we surely will miss our 7 day intensives and the chance to come together with the EAP Mentors. That being said, once our online training program is finalised, and COVID has settled down, we are looking to run an annual conference so that we may come together, connect and engage in person with the EAP Mentor community.

13.01.2022 The seventh instalment in our blog series on the 'Eight Principles of Love' is out now. Here is an insight from this months update: The origin of the word peacemaker meant ‘to bring about reconciliation’. In a broader context, reconciliation meant ‘to restore to union and friendship after estrangement or variance’. As much as this typically has a relationship context, in regards to the Beatitudes it is primarily something that happens within the consciousness of each individual. The reconciliation is between that part of us that buys into the world of illusion with its treasures of ‘wealth, power, love, and fame’ and that part of us that seeks a world of enlightenment with its treasures of ‘social justice, mercy, pure love and peace’. 11.01.2022 Engaging with friends and family in playful activities includes things like social sport, games, picnics, camping etc. This is an active and playful opportunity to communicate and interact with others. At times this can be misinterpreted to mean joking around with people. That can be the case but isn’t sufficient to meet the context of this aspect. One of the keys here is ‘often’. People do it from time-to-time but not often. Modern life makes it difficult. ... Activity: Identify various activities that you partake in that are playful, who you do them with, and how often you do them.

07.01.2022 There are three phases of EAP Mentor Certification: Provisional Mentor Certified Mentor Senior Mentor... Each phase consists of four module types: Experiencing E-learning Practicing Studying and an assessment. Experiencing is where the trainee gets to witness first hand what it is like to work with an EAP Mentor as they are personally mentored through each unit of the Enhances Awareness Program. E-Learning involves completing the online mentor training module. This is where trainees develop a clear understanding of the philosophy of the program as well as how to mentor clients through the program. Practicing requires the trainee to take three case studies through each unit of the program, under supervision. Studying is where the trainee uses a Mentor Study Guide to explore the concepts proposed in the Enhances Awareness Program in more detail, providing the trainee with a more intimate understanding. We believe that when an individual uncovers a deep sense of self-worth and acceptance that they experience true happiness and begin to heal. We also believe that through healing enough individuals in this way, global change is possible. In his book 'Get Out of Jail Card', Russell Sturgess, the founder of EAP Mentor, shares intimate details of his own awareness journe...y. One of the pivotal parts of the book is where he writes: I saw before me, someone who was truely happy. Someone who naturally expressed stillness and who obviously possessed a great sense of their self-worth. This moment perfectly captures the essence of what EAP Mentors are working to achieve with their clients.

02.01.2022 When we are friends with socially and culturally diverse people, we get to experience attitudes and beliefs that are different to our own, and this exercises the mind. This creates plasticity of thought processes, which helps to maintain mental health. Being aware of this aspect would see you engage with these people enough to understand their beliefs and attitudes. It would allow in-depth discussions that enhanced the understanding of the other persons life experience. This is most serving when it is encountered over an extended period. Typically they would be in your network of friends. Incidental or irregular interaction with these people is not sufficient for fulfilling this aspect. Activity: Spare a moment to consider if there are people in your life who would fulfil this aspect of awareness.
