21.01.2022 Many thanks for assessing our four year old son today. Your calm, gentle and professional manner was greatly appreciated. Our son was guided through the testing... and it was all done in such a fun way! As a parent, I am grateful for the comprehensive assessment carried out and the thorough explanation of results. Many thanks! See more

20.01.2022 Did you know sudden hearing loss is a considered a medical emergency? If it happens to you or a loved one, don't delay. Book an appointment with your GP or attend ED. A hearing test will also be required to determine the cause and extent of the problem. The sooner it's treated (often with steroids), the greater the chance your hearing will return!

08.01.2022 Tinnitus is a common condition. It is the perception of a noise in the ears when there is no external sound present. Many describe it as a ringing noise, while for others it may sound like a clicking, buzzing, hiss or roaring. It can be present in either one or both ears. For some people it can be mildly annoying and non-bothersome but for others it can be very distressing and often linked to anxiety and depression. The good news is that there is a range of treatment options available for helping people to manage their tinnitus. Although there is no cure, being told to ‘learn to live with it’ is no longer acceptable. If you or anyone you know suffers with tinnitus, the first step should be to have a hearing test with an audiologist. The results of the hearing test will determine treatment. Most importantly don’t suffer in silence!

03.01.2022 Earbox is now accredited by WorkCover to perform baseline hearing tests and full audiological assessments. This means its audiologist, audiology equipment and testing environment at Butler Family Practice, meet stringent WorkCover standards. Anyone working in a designated noisy area requires a baseline hearing test on commencing work. A compensation scheme is in place if annual hearing tests indicate there is a 10% hearing loss compared to the original baseline test from noise in the workplace. Your employer is responsible for arranging and paying for all WorkCover hearing tests. Call 0414 458 262 or 08 9563 1480 for an appointment https://www.workcover.wa.gov.au//noise-induced-hearing-lo/
