20.01.2022 Some thoughts on Motherhood by the Lebanese poet Khalil Gibran: The most beautiful word on the lips of mankind is the word Mother, and the most beautiful cal...l is the call of My mother. It is a word full of hope and love, a sweet and kind word coming from the depths of the heart. The mother is every thing she is our consolation in sorrow, our hope in misery, and our strength in weakness. She is the source of love, mercy, sympathy, and forgiveness. He who loses his mother loses a pure soul who blesses and guards him constantly. Everything in nature bespeaks the mother. The sun is the mother of earth and gives it its nourishment of heat; it never leaves the universe at night until it has put the earth to sleep to the song of the sea and the hymn of birds and brooks. And this earth is the mother of trees and flowers. It produces them, nurses them, and weans them. The trees and flowers become kind mothers of their great fruits and seeds. And the mother, the prototype of all existence, is the eternal spirit, full of beauty and love. Khalil Gibran See more

03.01.2022 AN UPDATE: This will be the fourth week since we first publicised our #ThumbsUp4SafeCommunities initiative. Support has been received from all quarters includ...ing a big Thumbs Up from Australias Deputy PM Michael McCormack MP on Friday. This week well be shifting focus to shine a light on #InternationalNursesDay on Tuesday - more on that during the week. One of the earliest responses to our call out for photos was this great picture of a social worker who works with Open Support - an organisation dedicated to supporting domestic violence victims, tackling social isolation and reducing regional barriers to accessing suitable healthcare. The photo arrived courtesy of Hawkesbury Police Area Command after a meeting between Customer Service Duty Officer, Chief Inspector Garry Sims APM and the social worker. Thank you for the work you do Garry. Their encounter illustrates the two-way communication that happens through simple gestures of mutual goodwill, particularly important at a time when the need for giving assurances of community safety is paramount. Our members, the hard-working police women and men of NSW have certainly been entering into the spirit, as seen here: https://pansw.org.au//articles/thumbsup_member-support.html ____ Brett Holmes https://www.facebook.com/nswnma/ https://opensupport.org.au/

02.01.2022 The historic $130 billion JobKeeper Payments have begun to flow to eligible businesses. This will save millions of jobs and keep businesses operating until we are on the other side of the pandemic. This is good news for employers and employees in Hume who have been doing it tough.

01.01.2022 This week, students of EPS returned to school for one day. We asked students what the best part about coming back to school has been. There was definitely a few... common themes with friends at the top of the list! Phase one of the managed return to school continues next week. During this phase the Premier has stated that children should be kept at home, except for their rostered day and has asked parents to respect the guidelines that are established by the school. Please note that this does not apply to those students who need to attend EPS each day.
