21.01.2022 With today's warm weather, it was the perfect opportunity for water play. The Early Starters outside area received a fresh coat of 'paint', whilst the children enjoyed pouring the water onto the flowers to water them.

20.01.2022 Teddy Bears Picnic for Families Week 2017 Early Starters Program will be inviting children to bring a special guest or two to come and join in our celebration of National Families Week 2017. Children may bring their teddy or another special friend to their allocated session.... All additional information can be found either on the Story Park Community page or at the Centre. 19.01.2022 Today's fine motor activities included sponge painting with real sea sponges and, drawing at the easel. Both activities allow the children to develop their fine motor and cognitive skills and, the opportunity to use real sea sponges allows the use of natural materials to be incorporated into the environment.

19.01.2022 If you feel like getting outdoors in the lovely weather and need some extra incentive, Lollipops has got you covered. Are any of the Early Starters Children participating in the Rock Craze? Post a photo of any rocks your children have found in the comments or bring them in and show all of their friends.

19.01.2022 As part of our Under the Sea theme the children have a chance to play a magnetic fishing game, which utilises their cognitive skills as well as fine motor skills. The children also enjoy pretending to "cook" the fish in the home corner for dinner, which also encourages their pretend play skills.

18.01.2022 We are still talking about the wonderful creatures of the sea. Here we have one little girl who decided to join all of the fish together and said "Look - I've made a reeaaally long fish"! She of course understands that each small fish is an individual fish - but the mathematical concept that she is displaying demonstrates that she is familiar with the mathematical concept of long and short!

17.01.2022 Playing with water was the order of the day! Bathing the dolls, playing in the water trough or painting the planter box with water were all perfect activities for such a hot day!

14.01.2022 The Early Starters Program has joined Story Park. This is a new and innovative way of sharing our observations and photos with the parents of the children attending the program. If you are unsure what this or have not received your email invite please see Mrs Rocca who will be able to help you with any queries.

14.01.2022 Today the children had a nice social interaction at the fruit table. The children may eat fruit anytime through out the session and often there is only one or two seated at once, today every seat was taken. .

If your child is turning 3 years old before Term 1 2018, is fully toilet trained and would like to take part in a play based, pre-kindy program, we may have just what you have been looking for. The program is run by fully qualified and experienced educators. 13.01.2022 The children had a very busy day at Early Starters today. They had the opportunity to play with water in the sandpit, connect with nature whist painting outside under the arbour, escape the noise and read on their own in the library and match photos of shells and sea creatures with their X-ray images. As always Creation Station was also very busy!

12.01.2022 Our "Under the Sea" theme has inspired our children! Today the children transformed the mat area into their own ocean, using various material pieces and sheets. They then swam and dived into the ocean, finishing their sea visit off with an ice cream.

10.01.2022 The children had a busy day at Early Starters today!

10.01.2022 What else do you do on a hot day but play in the sand - get very wet, get covered in sand - and then wash your feet in two buckets of water! What a wonderful sensory experience- and so enjoyable!

09.01.2022 Today was definitely another busy day at Early Starters! The children started making their Christmas decorations and enjoyed playing in the cubby before the rain hit. They also displayed their caring natures by helping push each other on the swing.

09.01.2022 The balancing pebbles became elephant ears today! This group of children were discovering how the different sized pebbles were able to balance on each other, when one little girl placed them on her ears and said "I'm an elephant."

09.01.2022 Look who visited the Eggly Starters Program! To celebrate Easter, we're giving away this jar of chocolate eggs. 07.01.2022 Welcome back Mrs Rocca! Mrs Heather Rocca is returning to the Bayswater Family Centre to teach the Early Starters Program for the remainder of the year. Mrs Rocca will be a teaching the program starting on Wednesday the 29th of March.... Please make her feel welcome, I am sure it will be a smooth transition back into her old role.

04.01.2022 This is a small snap shot of the sorts of activities the children have been doing this term at the Early Starters Program. As well as some of the fantastic creations that have been made in our creation station from recycled and donated materials.

03.01.2022 The Bayswater Family Centre is proud to be holding a Winter Appeal on behalf of The Salvation Army. The Early Starters children have decorated the box and now we need your help to fill it. Please check the back of your cupboards in case you have anything to spare. All donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

02.01.2022 Easel drawing was very popular today. This opportunity allows the children to utilise their fine motor skills and, express their creative side. Providing a larger scale for the children to work on allows them a different perspective, in comparison to drawing sitting down and on a smaller sized medium.
