24.01.2022 REMINDER - There will be a Special General Meeting of the Early Music Society of Queensland on THIS SUNDAY, 25th March 2018 at Chermside starting at 10.30 am. The primary purpose of this meeting is to vote on the motion that the Early Music Society of Queensland should apply to become an incorporated association under Queensland state law. All financial members are invited to attend and vote. However if you are unable to attend you may vote by proxy using the form form which was emailed recently. Notes on the motion and a proposed set of Rules of Association to be adopted should the motion be passed have been emailed to members, along with an agenda.



24.01.2022 This years 4mbs young performers award finalists includes a recorder player, Will Hardy from Victoria. the National Final will be held at the 4MBS Performance Studio (384 Old Cleveland Rd, Coorparoo) in Brisbane on Sunday 25 November, 2pm. Finalists will be asked to prepare at least two contrasting pieces with a playing time of 15-20 minutes. The National finalists are: Mia Huang, piano - Artsound (ACT) Anna Stephens, soprano - Fine Music 102.5 (NSW) ... William Hardy, recorder - 3MBS (VIC) Nina Fan, piano - 4MBS (QLD) Victoria Coxhill, soprano - 5MBS (SA) Full details on the 4mbs website www.4mbs.com.au

In 1959, Wolfgang Zuckermann developed a build-it-yourself harpsichord kit that brought this once-obscure instrument into thousands of homes from North America to Australia. Washington Post.

The programme will include Handel "Atalanta" Overture, Vivaldi Concerto for violin, strings, and basso continuo in A minor RV 356 No. 6 Op.3 "Lestro Armonico", Bach Flute Concerto in Eb, Corelli "Sonata a quattro" and Zelenka Trio Sonata No 3 in Bb, ZWV 181 for violin, oboe, bassoon and basso continuo.
