22.01.2022 RE: COVID19. We are taking extra precautions to keep our services available to those who need them. We are awaiting information from the Australian Psychological Society regarding essential services with children. UPDATE 23/3/20... 1/ We have transitioned most people to Zoom Telehealth. Zoom is free to download and easy to use. 2/ For assessments and neurofeedback we have limited opening hours to minimise traffic and to give time for cleaning. If you enter the clinic, please wash your hands thoroughly (soap and paper towels at the back near toilet). You will go straight to the consulting room and NOT the waiting room. 3/ You will see us in some basic personal protection equipment (PPE). We will open and close entry doors. 4/ We are offering a home delivery neurofeedback service to maintain brain training sessions. 5/ We are setting up online individual and group e-learning - some of this will be teaching workshops delivered on line instead of in person. IMPORTANT:- If you have any of these symptoms - runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever, difficulty breathing - please ring your GP clinic. Remember to exercise caution throughout the current period and follow the government recommendations such as regular hand washing. We need to support our community and be mindful of the elderly and disabled. If anyone requires assistance with basic needs, food supplies etc. please contact Mel to see if she can help. Take care everyone. Kind Regards, Jan and Mel

15.01.2022 Covid-19 Update: 23/3/19 1 Allied Health Considered Essential Services: The Federal Government has announced that non-essential services will begin to be closed as of today. ... Psychologists are considered essential services. The Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt has confirmed that all allied health businesses nationally can continue working and are encouraged to do so. When and if this changes, we will advise directly. 2 Telehealth Bulk-Bilked Medicare Services: New COVID-19 Medicare items, available from 13 March 2020, allow vulnerable/isolated clients to access to bulk-billed psychological services delivered via telehealth (i.e., videoconference or phone). These measures were introduced as part of the Federal Government’s $2.4 billion package to protect Australians from the coronavirus (COVID-19). Psychologists, doctors, nurses and other mental health allied health workers can provide these services. 3 Clinic Hours: We continue to be open with limited hours for assessments and neurofeedback services. This will be updated as the situation changes. We have transitioned most clients requiring general clinical work to Telehealth.

14.01.2022 I spent some time recently with Tania Rowan from Ultimate Functional Fitness, planning out some fine and gross motor activities for children to do at home. This was *pre-covid19* ... we had no way of knowing just how much we would need these activities.... So now I have some time at home, I am trying to fast track some ideas...... Tan uploaded this one to her own followers - HOPSCOTCH with Sophie (make sure you watch out for gorgeous Sasha looking on through the window!). I am going to see if Tan can tweak this a little for my really little kiddos...but for now, try this out...and have fun!

10.01.2022 "The coronavirus pandemic is awakening multi-millions to the reality of our interconnectedness. We are all in this together, which can turn out to be the bright side of it all. Yes, millions are isolated by ‘shelter in place’ or separated by ‘social distancing’, yet sensing that it’s now time to care for each other more than ever." Doc Childre, HeartMath founder From HearthMath: As a gesture of our care to hopefully uplift your spirit, we are offering free access to our po...pular new online program The HeartMath Experience during the months of April and May and possibly longer. This effective 90 minute interactive learning experience, which has been featured at film festivals, provides insights into the power of your heart’s intelligent guidance. You will learn 5 scientifically validated HeartMath techniques designed to help you reduce stress and anxiety while increasing inner security and emotional poise. Research has also shown that these techniques for balancing the mind and emotions along with practicing compassionate care especially enhance our immune system and boost our resilience. We hope this program of practical tools can support you and your family in maintaining mental and emotion balance for making effective choices through these times, or any time. https://www.heartmath.org/training/heartmath-experience/

02.01.2022 I know lots of Victorians are feeling stressed and isolated. Lots of us are missing friends and family. And lots of people with existing mental health issues ar...e finding things really tough. We've seen greater demand than ever for our mental health services these past few weeks and months. And given we're extending the State of Emergency for another four weeks, we have to make sure everyone has the support they need. That's why we're doing this. We're starting the roll out of 170 additional youth and adult acute mental health beds. Providing online therapy for kids and their parents. More support for significant trauma and an expansion of our suicide prevention program. Mobiles and extra phone data to help at-risk and vulnerable Victorians stay in touch with their mental health and crisis services. Extra training and resources for frontline mental health workers. And a dedicated phone line that people can call if they're feeling lonely and really need a chat. We're dealing with a public health emergency but we cannot allow it to become a mental health crisis. Self-isolation must not turn into social isolation for thousands of people across the state. This is about making sure Victorians get the support they need when they need it.
