22.01.2022 Most people would give up. Most people would throw in the towel and say it’s not worth it. Most people actually wouldn’t bother to begin with. But my wife is n...ot ‘most people’. Her third flight out of Malawi this week was cancelled yesterday - again due to mechanical issues. Add that to the two cancelled return JHB-SIN-Australia flights earlier this month (Mel, Ade) so that she now has to quarantine in Perth for two weeks over Christmas, and the four trips which were cancelled earlier in 2020 (all cancelled by the airline due to Australian Government regulations in response to COVID-19) and you can easily conclude that Bec is a strong and determined woman. Her perseverance demonstrates to the wonderful ABC Hearing Clinic team that they are worthy of her best efforts in bringing much-needed supples, equipment and training to them and that her level of persistence is also expected of them in their pursuit of excellence in their audiology studies and their service to Malawians with ear and hearing issues. If a leader leads by example, then the message is clear, Give generously and sacrificially, and don’t give up. Despite the difficulties, God has blessed Bec in so many ways during this trip. Thank you to everyone in Malawi and Australia who has supported her during this time. Romans 5:4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. Love you Bec!
