22.01.2022 Another Designer with a excellent attention to detail and beautiful colour on our site will be Judy Egan. This is one of her pieces in 2 scales called Miniata cream. You can purchase 1m for $60 from this week on 100% natural cotton 220gsm canvas. With many fabrics we will offer them in 3 scales to suit large areas and also the standard size usually 70 x 70cm repeat the designer sets and a smaller repeat for wallpapers and possible fashion purposes.

18.01.2022 Testing like crazy, learning alot, suprisingly from my own notes ... This is the Re-issue round - experimenting with resolutions and ink densities - trying to find that crucial point where colour is solid but keeps it' line sharp.

17.01.2022 Call me crazy ... BUT ... As a SURFACE DESIGNER there is a problem in the industry ... and that problem is getting from ART to PRODUCT. My name is Stephen Woods, I've been involved in production and design my whole life across 3 distinctly different industries and the problem is the same. Designers and producers are separated by a skill set and many designers are at a loss how to get their work made or printed to be used for finished products that are available to the open ma...rket. Simple right. I actually think that it is ... as with any process or skill there is a lot to learn but once that system is in place it becomes a repeatable process, being the secret of all good business. Once you find a product or design that is selling ... you can either repeat or expand the idea. So that's what I'm doing ... working to make the Designer the focus. I ask myself how we can do this better and I think get back to basics .... buy and test great fabrics and show that to the designer so they can see the quality first and then they can move forward with confidence and momentum. Showing their print on world class fabrics to their customer. Keeping it all in flow ... The momentum you have when designing should flow ... from finished art to art check to test print and then production on the same print settings on the same fabrics as tested. How do we do this ... by showing you your print on 1 metre of best in class 100% cotton 'Coolangatta' canvas for $25 + postage Think about that ... we call it the '$25 dollar drape' with which you can drape over a lounge suite or hang on a wall or ... show a client - insitu. 16.01.2022 Undoubtably our long term vision at Earth Textile is putting Designers and their work in front of potential clients. These potential clients being anything from individuals or interior designers working on residential projects, through retail and commercial designers, shop fitters and of course architects. Commercial spaces being either corporate office spaces or retail having the largest continuous business continuity with constant remodelling with tenant changes in corporat...e office buildings or time based upgrades for retail spaces which can be anything from a coffee shop or product showroom through to a casino. So when considering the commercial spaces, especially at a time of absolute flux as now with so many 'spaces' evolving, it's worth listening to the conversations of creative directors and planners from the big players. Here is a week of talks coming through from KNOLL, with some interesting subject matter - worth a look if you have the time and this design attitude suits your work or business directions. Certainly an opportunity being a very international conversation to ascertain if what is said is relevant to the Australian design communities or not. 10.01.2022 A new 1m sample for Thats Graphic from South Australia ... Photos don't really do it justice but also I want to get this onto a better more complex weave. We've found a real success with making the sample process easy for people which we first played with on Aussie Surface Pattern Group and want to extend it probably forever where we do a 1m test swatch on canvas for $25 + postage of $10 ... so a designer can then see what new design interprets like when hung over a lounge su...ite or product. I know as a designer myself these mood board type of scenarios where a customer can feel the fabric and see it in real life is priceless. I always thought of it like breaking the ice - I always needed something real and tangible that gave the project shape, direction and something for everyone to handle. 01.01.2022 This is the sort of work that really inspires me. Retail, food and design. I must admit a forever love of French Design and find the shapes within spaces the most incredible. The highlight here being the atmospheric and even cold wall art against the warmth of the timbers and the geometric shapes of the floor all sharing the cool, clean washed out teal mood almost celebrating the air in the room. I look at this and wonder how long did it take them to add the round table at the centre of the picture.
