17.01.2022 What started it all... Many of you don't know that the Collective started with locally grown Tea many years ago. Getting up at 4am travelling to markets in Kiama, Coledale, Camden, Goulburn, Picton and Wollongong each week.... Down time was growing, picking packing and labelling tea ready for market. This took a toll on my back resulting in slipped and ruptured disks in my back. I dreamed of opening an "indoor market " of sorts full of locals. After being affected by the bushfires in Buxton , being stuck with no income, power or herbs I came to the realisation that the business i had nurtured for 5 years may have just been destroyed. Thanks to the power of Instagram , Turia Pitt organiser of the spend with them movement who wrote an article on My business. Overnight I received over $30k in online orders and even had to enlist the help of her best friends to get orders out. Orders came in from overseas and even Big brands rip curl Australia and ripcurl international featured my business on their pages. I then had the means to open the space for small business owners just like herself named Earth Air Fire Water organics Collective. Open day March 31st , COVID-19 lock downtook over. I didnt lose hope and continued to push on and opened the Collective The collective now has 28 local businesses displaying products ranging from handmade skincare, candles, crystals, pottery, oils, jewellery, baby clothes, flowers, soaps,f lower arrangements, art, macrame, indoor plants home ware and of course my very own organic tea and beauty range. We have some fantastic workshops booked in for the near future, so keep an eye out. I cannot thank the small businesses enough for coming along for the ride and helping to make it the successful and thriving community hub that it has become. A special mention to the Locals and regulars who have been are supporting Earth Air Fire Water Organics Collective . You help put food on the table for 28 locals. So there it is... our story.
