I was drawn to the gorgeous blend of greens and pinks in these Unakite hearts and then I went home and read up on it, finding that it is a wonderful stone for harmonizing and balancing the reproductive system and has traditionally been given to women to help support a healthy pregnancy and delivery. 25.01.2022 What do I use, how and when?! This is my personal skincare routine. I like to keep it simple daily, and do a weekly treatment. Pic 1 - Morning: Splash face with cool water & dry ... -Floral Hydration Mist -Hemp Serum and/or Face Cream of choice -Make Up (sometimes!) I love Eco Minerals powder or La Mav foundation. Shock horror, I don't use a cleanser in the morning! If I do my PM routine, I wake up to nice fresh skin and I don't believe in over-cleansing. Pic 2 - Evening: -Foaming Cream Cleanser -Floral Hydrating Mist -Facial Oil - apply while your skin is still moist from the mist, take 1 full minute to massage this in well working upwards and outwards. -Rosehip Eye Cream - pat a tiny amount under and over eye area Pic 3 - Weekly: Once per week I bring out the big guns and give myself a mini facial, in this order - -Foaming Cream Cleanser -Gentle Exfoliant - with wet fingertips and massage in tiny circles over your face -Mask - 10 minutes (loving the Berry Pomegranate at the moment but will switch it up to Charcoal Mineral if my skin is hormonal/congested, or Cacao Turmeric if it's looking dull and needs a good wake up). -Floral Hydration Mist -Hemp Serum - 1-2 pumps pat in gently -Facial Oil if PM or Face Cream if AM, again take time to massage it in or use your crystal roller or gua sha here. -Rosehip Eye Cream I am just as time poor as the rest of you so the weekly routine might actually be fortnightly sometimes, but this gives you an idea I don't recommend exfoliating or masking TOO often, it's important not to stress your skin with too many abrasive or actives. Also, avoid washing with hot water or rubbing your face with a towel, just pat dry and treat yourself gently Hope this makes sense and seems simple enough, I'm happy to answer any questions!

22.01.2022 What is the difference between a handmade soap and a mass produced soap (even of the 'natural' kind)? Mass produced soaps are commonly made from highly processed palm oil (sometimes labelled as sodium palmate in soap), where during the process the glycerine (the moisturising part) from the soap is removed to make them harder, and additives such as fragrant oils (toxic stink) and tetrasodium EDTA is added for scent and to preserve. True handmade soaps on the other hand, are ma...de by someone who LOVES what they do, and takes care and pride in every bar using quality ingredients. The natural occurring glycerine is left in, which does make the soap softer but also adds moisturizing qualities making it much better for your skin, and doesn't dry it out like big brand soaps. More on Tetrasodium EDTA...a preservative made from formaldehyde and sodium cyanide (toxic carcinogens banned in many countries) yet still found in many 'natural' soaps EDTA is also a penetration enhancer, meaning that any other toxins in the product are easier penetrated into the skin. 13.01.2022 Normally at this time of year I would be frantically trying to make logs and logs of soap to be ready for Christmas time. Watching all my soaping buddies, I have to admit, it's been nice not to be slaving away in this warmer weather! But, when you love the craft so much you can't just sit back and watch! I let my son choose the design of this soap, as it will be for our personal use. 12.01.2022 Here's something for you - dry skin is a lack of oil in this skin, whereas dehydrated skin is a lack of water in the skin. That is very simply put, but helps to understand why it is important to use both water and oil based skincare in your routine. Your skin may change so much as the weather does, and is not necessarily dryer but dehydrated due to the lack of humidity in our Aussie winter. Earth Bud Floral Hydrating Mist is a combo of organic Rose & Geranium hydrosols and Aloe Vera juice which help to balance oil production, soothe and refresh, and hydrate skin cells to keep those skin cells plump and perky. 08.01.2022 Willowbark Face Cream Formally called 'Balancing Cream', this moisturiser contains Willowbark, which has naturally occuring salicylic acid - a type of acid that works as a natural exfoliant. It's anti inflammatory action helps to clear blemishes, unclog pores and stimulate new cell growth. I love this moisturising cream with the oil balancing blend of bergamot, rose damask, lavender, geranium and tea tree essential oils but as always, this can be personalised to suit your skin.

06.01.2022 Something so often missed by essential oil users is the extreme differences in colour and molecular size of oils. I absolutely love this process of blending, where you get to see the oils full character and learn to understand why it behaves the way it does in skincare and soap making. Any guesses with what is in these beakers?! Here's a hint - one is woody, and the other is fresh and there are 3 oils in each!

05.01.2022 You wash your face but how often do you wash your make up brushes? I know this is something that many of us forget about - but this method is so quick and easy! Just wet your brush, foam it up on a bar of soap, then rinse until the water runs clear. You may need to repeat this if your brush is reaaallly full of make up. Do this weekly and your brush will feel softer, fluffier, and apply make up much more evenly - not to mention keeping your skin and palettes cleaner. Also, you want to use a natural soap - store bought/commercially made soaps lack the natural oils and are usually stripped of the glycerine that helps condition your bristles. #naturalskincare #ecohome
