I find the contrast so intriguing and really compliments super active stones like this Lightning Ridge black opal gem. 22.01.2022 How cool is this organic trellis setting I’ve been working on ... look closely... the gem is not on a seat ... the gem itself is a ‘Killiecrankie Diamond’ (topaz) fossicked at Flinders Island in far North Tasmania. 19.01.2022 Inspired by a different environment than my usual muses, this piece is a nod to the concrete jungles of the world and the expressions of creativity that can be found within them. My first memories of being enthralled by artworks was skating around the city checking out new murals and being captivated by people’s imaginations and totally mind blown how these people could transfer their thoughts and ideas onto a wall. Many years later, here I am doing something similar but through my passion of gemstones and small wearable sculptures we call jewellery. I chose an Ankh as the canvas for this piece to highlight the eternal and indelible nature of creativity and expression of this art form.

16.01.2022 One of the things I love most about boulder are their characteristic ferrous inclusions. I could have very easily turned this piece into 2 perfectly clean gems, but instead I chose to leave the imperfections in place because I loved the way it made the stone look like something the Hubble telescope would see

13.01.2022 ‘Earthfyre’ ... .... gone to a new home, this piece was in my collection for years and will always be remembered as on of my first true loves of opal jewellery. ... it comprised of a large fiery red boulder opal from Eromanga (QLD) and a crazy volcano orange black opal from Lightning Ridge (NSW).
