25.01.2022 RAW MOCHA TART // Boxing Day is literally one of my favourite days of the year. My giant extended family come together for chrissy and the day is just so wholesome I could cry (frequently do). It looked a little different this year but food is still the focus of the day. For dessert, I made the incredible @themerrymakersisters Raw Mocha Tart and it was a HUGE HIT! Can highly recommend, especially with berries to cut through the richness I’ve added the link to my bio so you can find it there. Completely gluten free, dairy free, and vegan! But zero compromise on taste. What’s your fave Christmas meal or treat?? xx

23.01.2022 SIGNS OF DEHYDRATION // it can be hard to recognise triggers for dehydration but they’re important to be aware of so you can keep track of how much water you ACTUALLY need! Here are some of the common ones that I see - some are short term/acute and some are longer term/chronic symptoms... headaches feeling hungry or thirsty dry and/or itchy skin poor skin turgor... dark yellow or strong-smelling pee dizziness or feeling light-headed dry lips, mouth or eyes bloating constipation infrequent peeing! Less than 4x daily tiredness and fatigue muscle cramps or twitches *of course, there are other culprits that can cause these symptoms, but hydration is an easily overlooked solution Make sure you’re getting (at least) your 2L today! If you’ve been struggling with these symptoms for a while, it’s time to book an appt! #linkinbio See more

18.01.2022 WATER INTAKE // one of the most surprising and repeated recommendations in my treatment plans is about water intake We know that hydration is vital for good health yet so many of us still don’t get enough! Water is important for... good digestion of food and ease of moving food through our gastrointestinal tract In fact increasing water intake is one of my basic recommendations for bloating! keeping our skin healthy and glowing by supporting the removal of wastes ...and toxins through our lymphatic system to keep our brains happy because they are made up of 80% water! All of our neuro functions need water to perform optimally regulation of our blood pressure and maintenance of fluid balance and volume in the body temperature regulation and keeping us cool by sweating when we’re hot ... and so much more! This week I’m sharing my best tips about how to increase your water intake - but first, how much water will you have today?? See more

17.01.2022 SUNDAY BRUNCH // dill is the most under appreciated herb - thoughts? Also brunch is the best way to spend a Sunday morning happy weekend chooks xx

16.01.2022 HERBAL TEAS // did you know that herbal teas count towards your water intake?! while the caffeine in black tea and coffee mean they don’t add to your water intake, herbal teas can help to add to your hydration! This is why I LOVE recommending herbal teas to my patients. 1 They add superpowers to your water! 2 They are gentle ways to add herbs to your daily routine 3 They are extra supportive for toxin removal because it helps to encourage lymph flow and liver stimu...lation 4 They are warming and can gently encourage digestion I have a beautiful range of herbal teas from @whole_natural_health available in clinic for my patients... SLEEP to induce relaxation and rest for good quality sleep GLOW a blend to support gentle detox for glowing skin DIGEST to soothe an upset tummy and reduce bloating Basic herbal teas are also beautiful just check that ingredient list to make sure they’re not full of artificial flavours because that doesn’t count! If you’re interested in beneficial herbal teas - send me a message and let’s find something that works for you See more

16.01.2022 CACAO BENEFITS // If you've been looking for a sign to break into your easter eggs early - this is it! Cacao is a magnificent little 'superfood' with plenty of health benefits, like... it's high in antioxidants that scavenges reactive oxygen species, inhibit certain enzymes and upregulate antioxidant defences it's really good for your vascular tissue (that's blood vessels!) and helps to upregulate nitric oxide production it’s also great for our cardiovascular system be...cause it acts as an anti-inflammatory for those tissues cacao can protect our nerves from injury and inflammation it’s also amazing for improving cognition and mood (whodathunk?!) The issue occurs when we eat shitty, sugar laden, energy dense chocolate that doesn’t have that much actual cacao in it at all (see, most easter chocolates). When getting your choccy fix, opt for: High quality Dark, the darker the better Dairy free, natural brands of chocolate Individually wrapped, not entire big blocks. Or, even better, make your own with minimal ingredients and have it just how you like it! I've got a recipe coming tomorrow, hands up if you're interested! xx See more

15.01.2022 EASTER EGG RECIPE // simple, quick, delicious and vegan-friendly! 1/2 cup coconut oil 1/2 cup cacao 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup for vegan... Plus Filling - options below! Melt ingredients together over a low heat on the stove until silky smooth. Pour a small amount into the bottom of your moulds or ice tray and pop in the freezer for 5-10 to solidify a bit. Take out of the freezer, add your filling and then top up with choccy. Pop back in the freezer and ENJOY once solid! These are deliciously easy. Here are some filling options: frozen raspberries or other fruit roasted crushed hazelnuts or peanuts whole almond or pecan or pistachio dollop of peanut butter or almond butter dried orange segment or you can add peppermint essence, salt, or some other flavour directly to the choccy mixture! Let me know what you come up with! **I used old easter egg moulds from @kmartaus for for these, but an ice cube tray works great! xx See more

06.01.2022 WHAT IS YOUR WHY? // We’re talking HABITS this week. I talk to my patients about this a lot. Starting on a new health journey could essentially be broken down into the building of new habits and breaking of old ones. Breaking the habit of scrolling through your phone before bed building the habit of practicing meditation before bed. Breaking the habit of buying your lunch building the habit of meal prepping.... Building the habit of taking your herbs and supps. Building the habit of MOVING your body. The key to making these new habits stick? You need a WHY Why do you want to create these new healthful habits? Is it so you’ve got more energy to get through the uni or work day? Is it to clear your skin and feel confident without make up? Is it to have a painfree period or improve your fertility? Is it to feel confident and well at exam time? Find your why. If it’s not strong enough, make it BIGGER. Write it down. Put it on your wall and remind yourself WHY. xx

03.01.2022 HAPPY EASTER little bunnies Sometimes breakfast is amazing and nutritious, and sometimes... it’s amazing and chocolate! Have a lovely day, and remember that this day is literally all about eating chocolate, not creating a guilty mindset around doing something you enjoy! You can always start again tomorrow (or eat more Easter eggs - you do you, boo) xx

01.01.2022 DIN DINS // does anyone else break into their Christmas ham a bit early?? Ours is almost half gone already () but damn, it’s just so tasty! This is just a little reminder (for myself too!) to stick to your regular meals, eat plenty of veg and protein and keep up your water intake to keep your body and health on track during the holidays I know the chrissy chocolates are yum (and abundant!) but you can’t thrive on that alone. But also... just enjoy it! You do you, babe xx
