23.01.2022 As the weather heats up, our lip-balms ask you - please don’t leave us in direct sunlight or extreme heat. As these beautiful balms are completely organic there is no preservatives (apart from vitamin e), meaning they will get softer in extreme temperatures and if left for too long in the heat, can cause the butters to crystallise. Although crystallisation doesn’t happen often as I heat and cool the products accordingly however, it still can. Self care is a broad term, the meaning and what people associate it with differs to many. Drinking water, massage, eating well, exercise are all self care practices that bring joy, relief and wellbeing to you as a whole and in turn will impact your skin health for the better. 07.01.2022 Beauty. I worked in the beauty industry as both a make up artist and a beautician. I left not because I disliked the tasks itself but because of the beauty industry and what it represents or doesn’t actually. Because it doesn’t represent beauty at all. It represents insecurity. When I first started Earths Medicines, I wasn’t quite sure of direction. I loved hand crafting products and formulating especially products involving herbs and then later discovering colours also. I...t challenged me at first when I made Cacao Satin and Red Reef that I seemed to be headed down that direction. Now, I accept the direction of flow and creation because what it’s clearly what I am here for. What I want Earths Medicines to be - is not only a makeup and beauty/skin care brand but a brand that doesn’t represent beauty by highlighting or focusing on insecurity. Rather, that focuses on beauty as each individuals soul and radiance. The makeup I create, is art, not beauty. YOU are the beauty, even without my products. But should you wish to use my art then you can confidently do so in a way that is expressive to you and not detrimental to anything, not you, not your skin, not the planet. It’s clean, is packaged with thought and formulated with love. And when I use models to showcase my products, you can also confidently know that what you view, is as natural as possible. Using natural lighting not photoshopped to the max and their personality and individual beauty can be felt. Because to me, beauty is a feeling, it’s more than skin deep. Beauty is in the heart. That’s what I accept and hope, sets Earths Medicines apart as a Makeup brand. The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, in her face or in her way of fixing her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the door open to her heart, the source of her love. 06.01.2022 In my powdered blushes including Naked Glow, Dorothy Rose and Life’s Peachy, I added an ingredient into the mix called Magnesium Myristate. This ingredients adds to the slip and glide qualities needed in blushes and also helps adhere to the skins surface. Incorporated into the mix with other ingredients such as Kaolin clay and non nano zinc, it gave the blushes the consistency needed to avoid titanium dioxide also (purely because I don’t know enough to comfortably use this in... powdered form). It can be however, be sourced from animal or palm derivatives and often in conventional or mainstream make up will be. Here, we don’t use animal derived (with the exception of beeswax) ingredients or ingredients that are making a huge negative impact on the planet such as palm. So we get ours derived from the fruit of Nutmeg. Keeping it vegan and sustainably sourced!! #mineralmakeup #naturalmakeup
