DHHS have specifically allowed salons to remain open during this time. Our procedures are now second nature, from temp taking of all staff/clients, staff wearing PPE, sanitizing all basins, workstations, door knobs, bathrooms, surfaces & equipment. 18.01.2022 Hot towel wraps | for battling the dryness that consistently being in heating and indoors causes, use your Minu or Nou Nou mask in your hair, and place a towel or tshirt in very hot water, ring out and wrap around your hair for 20 minutes. The steam helps the mask penetrate the hair and heal all of those crispy ends.

Staff members are also taking their temps & will continue to make sure everyone is 37.5 and below temperature. We take this very seriously & will continue to keep everyone safe during this time. ... We also appreciate all clients who have called to cancel or reschedule if they have had cold or flu like symptoms. We will always be able to offer another time for you to visit us, but when you are not well, it isnt time for a haircut. 07.01.2022 Earth to Betty has been operating for 3 years this year. From Jay and I, we grew our business baby into a little family. Our surrounding community has always been strong in Ascot Vale. I opened Earth to Betty originally to create a safe environment for women to have their hair done. No judgement, no harsh fumes, no negative environmental impact. With my own health problems, I chose to continue my career as a hairdresser with products that were safer on the skin. Safety has al...ways been our priority in salon. If I'm being honest, 2020 has been an incredibly tough year in business. Our decision on closing is always difficult. When we decide to close, we look at surrounding case numbers and asess the risks to staff and clients. We know how awful it is to rebook and be cancelled again. Its horrible making those phone calls. This year we have closed for a total of 10 weeks. We now face another possible shut down in stage 4. We have cancelled hundreds and hundreds of people this year because of shut downs. Whilst we await the decisions made by the government tomorrow, we want to reach out to each and every person that visits us and supports us and say thank you. Without your messages, waves and knocks on the window, our closed door would feel alot more isolating. We promise to continue to stay in contact with you all about your appointments should there be any more changes to the restrictions, once Dan Andrew's addresses Victoria again tomorrow.

To help get you in early and feeling fresh again, each night we will be posting any last minute appointments that become available for the next day. By filling one of these appointments you will get 20% off the service! Stay tuned each night on our Instagram stories from 7:00PM, where we will post the available appointments. 06.01.2022 Undone Hair. It seems to be a big challenge, and can sometimes feel like its more effort to make your hair look effortless. I hear a lot of women say "I have wavy hair but it isn't nice wave, or my curls aren't good, they are frizzy". ... LIES! ALL LIES! I swear, if i had a dollar for every time someone sat in the chair while i was admiring their beautiful natural hair and they said that, well... I would be isolating on an island in the Caribbean. Normally we (pre-covid) are in a weekly hair routine. You might be an every second day washer, a once a week washer or for our thick haired ladies you might push every 2. The trick to undone hair is to work on your hair the day its washed, and use your natural hair movement from the get-go. I know, they always tell you to wait until it's dirty, but we can't wait. We've got frizz to deal with straight up. Hot tools can come later if need be, 3 days in when the caffeine from Monday- Wednesday has worn off. There are a few things to assist getting natural flow and movement into the hair whilst avoiding frizz. Once you wash your hair, use a heat protector spray and dry off your roots. ( Always having the dryer pointing down, never up) If you have bangs, you can go ahead and blow dry them, using a flat brush (we don't want an 80's bubble fringe). Gently with (low power, high heat).. take the bulk of the moisture out off the mid lengths and ends, and then add in your Smoothing cream. ( I recommend Love hair smoother, won't make your hair oily or weigh it down). Once this is in, throw the brush away. Immediately. No more brushing. Brushing is done. Add a pea sized amount of molding paste to your hands. I know.. paste.. seems scary but keep listening.. Rub it into your hands until it is see-through, no white paste residue to be seen. grab all of your hair and wipe your hands down through the mid lengths and ends, and very gently cup the ends and give a light scrunch motion. Gently twist your hair in pieces away from the face and let it air dry. Give it a try & If you need more help, message us! Happy Undoing.

05.01.2022 To our Betty Community As most of you know, we have been advised that we will not be reopening in September, but must wait until October 26th. Our October date will only go ahead if we have 14 days of 5 and below cases per day. So basically, we need to wait and see. Like a cruel hair experiment, those regrowth's will have to wait a little longer before being professionally tended to.... If you are feeling that your regrowth is beginning to form its own postcode, please reach out to us & we can organize a regrowth care package to assist you at home. We are aware by this stage, you could be beginning to reach for supermarket dye. Put the box down, and send us a message, we will help you, no hair has to get hurt. We are restocking Our online store this week, but still have a lot of products available. If you need assistance with choosing a product, please reach out & we will gladly help you. Our thoughts are with all of our clients during this time. We will let you know in the coming weeks when we will be able to re-book everyone. We will reopen, we just want to know an exact date before we do.

04.01.2022 We must ask that if anyone is symptomatic at the time of their appointment to please reach out to reschedule. We will be temperature checking everyone as of tomorrow 22/6/20. Our temperature This checks will ensure all staff and clients are under 37.5, this will keep everyone safer during this difficult time. If you come to your appointments unwell, they will be cancelled as we cannot afford to catch the every day cold and flu either. Our safety procedures will continue to change as the situation does and we will keep you all up to date

02.01.2022 3 years ago today we implemented @sustainablesalonsanz into our business. This process of recycling everything encouraged us not only to be mindful of recycling, but also mindful of the products we purchased in the first place. Since then we have reduced our waste by 95%, having all of our eco friendly packaging going into these assorted bins, and remade into products that not only assist the hairdressing community but the ocean & environment. We still to this day use bio degradable towels, loose leaf tea, non toxic refillable cleaning products & sanitizers.. the list goes on. P.s how long is Jay's hair here!
