23.01.2022 So, now that I've given up caffeine, I wanted to share with you my "new" morning ritual. My coffee alternative. And why it's so great!
22.01.2022 That's a wrap! Checking out for 2020. Time to relax with this little guy... who's dreaming of his Christmas chicken, turkey and salmon. And wondering why the baubles are still on the tree... Wishing you and your families a beautiful Christmas and some much needed R&R over the coming weeks. I'll be back on deck (half-mast) starting Wed 6 Jan. Enjoy!
20.01.2022 Time for a change... From the beginning of October, face-to-face consults at All About Health Aldinga will be available on Monday or Wednesday afternoons. No more Saturday mornings in the clinic for me... sorry folks, but I really want to make it to the Farmers' Markets to stock up on all that fabulous produce!! Hope you can forgive me.... Online consults still available for other time slots... flexibility is key! Did you know that you can now conveniently book online, right here from this page? Simply hit "Book Now".
20.01.2022 Is this the face of a woman who does all the right things, all the right time? No, it is not. Hi, I’m Georgina, and I’m human.... For the most part, I follow an 80/20 rule which is to eat healthy foods most of the time, have 5 days alcohol-free every week, and indulge in sweet/salty snacks only occasionally. When I’m home, my digestive system runs like clockwork. Well, about a week ago, this changed. It was one of those little AHA moments. For the past two weeks, I’ve been temporarily displaced from my home so, I guess you might say that I’ve been travelling. This has been fun. A change of scenery. New faces and places. Mostly, I’ve had a city base, allowing me to catch up with long-lost friends and those I hold dearest, but rarely see. Being unusually social has been so valuable for my spirit, emotional and mental wellbeing. But not so much for my gut. Fewer veggies, less seeds and nuts, legumes and wholegrains, more sweet treats, a little cheese and crackers, and quite a few meals out (which introduces an element of risk, always). And, compared to my normal, a lot of alcohol. Sparkling wine, still wine (red & white), and even one cocktail. Not bucketloads, mind you. One drink an hour or less on the nights I’ve been out, alongside a meal - but over the space of one weekend, I was out for three days/nights in a row! Frivolity aside, there were a couple of moments when I thought: oh, oh!. My gut was gurgling, and I felt serious movement at the station. Like I wasn’t going to make it to the toilet in time. And wasn’t even sure where the next toilet was! Major wake-up call each time. I was reminded that I’m 44, not 24 years of age anymore. There’s no need to keep up with everyone else’s missions to party hard, or to over-indulge. It was time to listen to my body and give my gut some love! And that’s what I did. Went out to get myself some proper supplies. Reintroduced yoghurt and fresh fruit for breakfast. Offered to cook for others, to squeeze more veggies in the meal. Declined a glass of wine when it was offered. Opted for herbal tea instead. Simple tweaks, but so important. Can you relate to this? Is your gut affected by travel? Tell me below.

19.01.2022 There's nothing quite like a healthy libido to put a bit of a spring in our step, right? Many women tell me this is an area that they struggle with, even though they may have a solid connection with their partner. For some women, it's never really been there (just not a "driver"), whilst others have previously enjoyed a voracious sexual appetite and feel perplexed when it disappears. Let's face it, sex is not everything. In fact, sometimes it can make us downright crazy, if w...e're getting too much (and not sleeping with all the activity) or we crave it, and it's just not happening. But to feel attractive, desired, and to desire another (physically, mentally & emotionally) certainly adds to the spice of life! And of course, we want to enjoy it when it happens! Libido is certainly an aspect of our wellbeing that can wax and wane at different times in our life, and perhaps especially so during the menopausal transition. This month my online membership group (Mastering Menopause for Professional Poise) delves deep into the topic of libido. I'm going to equip members with practical tools and resources to restore VA VA VOOM! Of course, when libido changes, it's multi-factorial. That's why I've chosen to devote a whole month to this important topic. I'd love you to join me, if this an area that you want to work on! Click on the subscription link below. Let me help you rediscover your VA-VA VOOM and inject a bit of fun into the holiday season!!

16.01.2022 Detox tip #4 Get as much raw food into you as possible. And all the colours of the rainbow. Daily salads are VITAL, on the side, or as the main event (with adequate protein, of course). Here we have homemade beetroot falafels, coated in sesame seeds, with tahini cream atop. And a salad on the side... featuring peas and lettuce picked fresh from the garden. Nothing better!! ... Get plenty of these vegetables into you, in particular: carrot, beetroot, alfalfa, rocket, endives, broccoli, kale. They're fuel for your liver detox. What's fresh in your garden at the moment, ripe for a Springtime salad?
15.01.2022 Pause. Breathe. Thrive. Sound good? Join me for an upcoming day retreat for perimenopausal and menopausal women. Sunday 17 January, 2021. Aldinga Beach.... Co-hosted with @meganspencermeditation.
14.01.2022 Spring is here!! A time to shed layers. A time for growth. Perhaps the perfect time to assess and address what no longer serves you well. What could bring you more light and greater ease.... If you were to have a purge of sorts, and ditch that one thing that makes you feel "heavy", what would that be?
13.01.2022 Healthy Gut = Happy Hormones & Moods. Ladies, did you know that your gut health can have an impact on: Oestrogen level GABA... Serotonin Oxytocin For you, this could mean: smoother perimenopausal / menopausal transition (e.g. less flooding, fibroids & flushes, healthier heart & liver, strong bones) improved sleep, better rest & digestion more stable moods, less crazy food cravings, improved pain tolerance better intimacy, arousal & connection This week - in our ladies-only, private group (sorry fellas!!) - we're delving deep into how you can better support your gut health for hormonal harmony & magical moods. More of the good stuff & less of the: bloating farting burping stomach pain constipation reflux & heartburn You get the idea!! Hop on over & join us. Link below.
12.01.2022 Want to feel "lighter and brighter"? Here are some great reasons to incorporate Dandelion root into your hot cuppa repertoire. And not just whilst detoxing. When it comes to balancing hormones and supporting digestion, you've got to love your liver!!... Dandelion root (not leaf) is particularly helpful for enhancing liver function and detoxification, and stimulating bile flow. Great for anyone who: feels a little sluggish generally has frequent headaches or skin breakouts doesn't have daily bowel motions gets easily constipated or bloated feels nauseous after "rich" foods or who has trouble digesting fats & oils (think pale, beige floaty & looser stools... maybe you know what I'm talking about, even if you don't like talking POO!!) What I love about Dandelion root is its earthiness and bitter taste. And its versatility. Roasted, it makes a great coffee substitute - when weaning yourself off caffeine, to support your adrenals or to liver detox. Great as a latte, when medium-ground root is stove top percolated and added to your favourite warm (nut/soy/coconut) milk. Or used more like an instant coffee alternative (without nasty additives, of course!), served with mostly hot water and a dash of milk. Also beautiful mixed with other herbs in a tea blend, to support hormones, digestion, and to relieve stress. Remember, Dandelion leaves are better for urinary tract support, whilst the root is better for the liver. Tell me, have you tried Dandelion root yet, and if so, what did you think?
12.01.2022 For all the sweet tooths out there, looking after yourself with healthy food need not be drab! Take these super easy-to-make bliss balls, based on 4 main ingredients: Coconut oil Brazil nuts Raw cacao... Medjool dates Plus dessicated coconut for "garnish" & vanilla pod seeds (if desired). A surefire crowd pleaser... especially if your family is like mine! Delicious AND great for our hormones... Rich in magnesium (for oestrogen balance, less menstrual pain, calmer moods & better sleep). High in protein (for better blood sugar regulation, greater satiety & stable energy). Healthy oil (an essential building block for hormones like oestrogen & progesterone). Generous splash of selenium (for a healthy thyroid & antioxidant fix). Although you're not going to want to stop at one ('cause they taste SOOO good!!) remember that moderation is key. These dates are REALLY high in sugar!! I also have a fruit-free bliss ball recipe for those of you trying to avoid sugar. Let me know below with a up if you'd like either of these recipes!
07.01.2022 Pause. Breathe. Thrive. A nourishing day retreat for women transitioning through menopause. Sunday 17 January. Aldinga Beach.... Tickets on sale for only 7 more days. Booking link below.
05.01.2022 Detox tip #2 ~ Although it should really be #1. ~ My new favourite morning ritual. First up every day I squeeze the fresh juice of 1/4 - 1/2 lemon into a cup of hot water and enjoy!... ~ Why? The sour and bitter properties of lemon juice break up stagnant matter that impedes liver function. It increases bile flow and preps your body for digestion, especially helping you to process fats and oils more effectively. Perfect for anyone who needs to shift excess cholesterol, who has a history of gallstones, or to combat the effects of rich dietary indulgences (think: cheese, cream, fried foods). And to aid cleansing and elimination. How do you like to use your lemons? #detoxify #cleanse #citrusmagic #aceticacid #alkalise #feellighter #loveyourliver #springclean #naturopath #aldinga #fleurieucoast #earthtoessencenaturopathy @allabouthealthaldinga
04.01.2022 Ladies, how good do you feel when you've had a GREAT night's sleep? Refreshed. Resilient. Adaptable.... Strong. Clear headed. Focused. Driven. Energetic. Making good decisions. Feeling satiated & eating well. Tell me, when when was the last time you felt this good? That you slept soundly? Woke with a spring in your step? If it was last night, well done! Keep doing what you're doing. However if you, like 90% of our population, feel that good quality sleep is but a distant memory, then it's time to deal with that! Fact: As we transition through perimenopause and approach menopause, many women increasingly struggle with their sleep. In what way? The ability to fall asleep and/or stay asleep. I'm not just talking about night sweats. Or crippling anxiety in the dead of night. Sometimes it's restlessness... physical and/or mental. Why? It's multi-factorial, but part of the problem is hormones. Alongside a decline in oestrogen, the menopausal woman experiences a decline in progesterone. And the latter hormone has a bearing on sleep. What can you do about it? Join me in my dedicated online community for perimenopausal and menopausal women, where we delve deep into SLEEP during the month of November. A great space to pick up helpful and simple natural medicine strategies, to give you more of this: , and less of this: . To subscribe as a member of "Mastering Menopause for Professional Poise" for Nov 2020, see link below.
03.01.2022 It's Spring!! A time for new beginnings. Growth. The perfect time to purge what no longer serves you well. For me, personally, I felt it was time for a bit of a cleanse. A detox. In the name of balanced hormones, better sleep, greater energy and clarity. To feel less reactive. Better equipped to handle stress. All round, a desire to feel lighter and brighter. A chance for my system to reboot. So, last week I gave up coffee and all caffeine.... Yes, break out the party poppers (not the bubbles)... that is SOMETHING to celebrate!! I'd love to tell you it was easy, but it wasn't. Physically, mentally and emotionally rough. Much harder, in fact, than it had been previously. Lots of "baggage" to unpack this time around. Unhelpful stories in my head. Like: "You're not organised with supplies, or ready yet." "You've picked the worst possible time." "As a slow mover and thinker, maybe you're the kind of person who needs just one coffee a day." You get the idea... Isn't it interesting that when we we embark on these bold missions to make behavioural change, in the name of achieving XYZ, that we can so soon hit roadblocks. Real or imagined, you might ask? Well, I would argue, it's all in our minds. Having come out the other side (this week) A-OK I can attest to this. We have everything that is required, right here, within us. We sometimes just need to unpack all that "baggage"... and shift our frame of reference. Having someone by your side (like I did) to ask all the right questions, to help you explore different perspectives, can be helpful - that's for sure. Tell me, do you have stories in your mind that could be holding you back from making effective change? I'd love to hear what you have to say!

(Because it's been a while, right?!) If you're a woman aged 35 - 55 +/- a few years and you're feeling especially HORMONAL, then you may want to check this out...... 01.01.2022 Detox tip #3 Invest in a firm-bristled brush with a detachable handle, like this one here. Spend a few minutes dry skin brushing every day, just prior to showering or bathing.... All you need to do is brush vigorously, working from your peripherals to your heart. In other words, from your toes up to your thighs, your ankles to your buttocks, from your fingers to your shoulders, on the torso (front & back) toward the heart. Use the long handle to get to all those delicious, hard-to-reach places on your back. It feels so good!! If you do it correctly, your skin should look pink and feel all tingly. Why? Well, it exfoliates the skin (removes dead skin cells) and stimulates lymphatic flow. When we detox, we want to work with all our channels of elimination. So, that's not just your liver, but your bowel, your lungs, skin, kidneys and lymphatic system. They all help to remove the "gunk". Tell me, how good does it feel, for those of you who have tried it? @allabouthealthaldinga
