15.01.2022 Consciousness with oils have you tried it? Last week we shared some thoughts about #livingconsciously on the blog. Why? Well, because we think that living consciously empowers you to take the reins of your life and savour it, rather than going through the motions on autopilot. It may sound a little cosmic and like a lot of effort. But it’s more like a practice and habit that turns into a lifestyle. The goal isn’t to float around life with zero struggle either. It’s simply, d...oing things with consideration and knowing why you are doing them. By living consciously, you are choosing what you want to put your time, effort and thoughts towards. You start to detach your ‘self’ from your ‘thoughts’ and give yourself the space to choose what to pay attention to. In the blog, we talk about how you can start living consciously with yourself, with your values, in your home and with the environment. But we kinda skipped one of our favourite ‘conscious SOS’ tricks. Life can be overwhelming, and overwhelm can cloud your mind. It’s super difficult to be conscious when you’re working with blur. Something we like to do to help gain mental clarity is to take a moment to feel #focused and #grounded. To do this, we like to check in with the senses. Diffusing #Peppermint or #Rosemary #essentialoils work well for this exercise as both promote calm, reflection and focus. Give yourself a minute (or longer if you’re loving it) to pay attention to the look of the oils drifting into the air, the smell of the oils, the sound of the diffuser working and the feeling of being in your space. By taking a moment to ground yourself in reality through your senses, you’re giving yourself a break from your brain. Ours certainly isn’t a priority voice in these trying times, but if you’re lucky enough to have space, time and energy to read our message it’s this. It’s a sad time for a lot of people. The past few days wasn’t just about weather it turned lives upside down. If you’re in a position to help (and if it’s safe), contact your local council or councils in affected areas and ask what you can do to help. It could be volunteering to clean, donating goods or financial assistance they’ll know what the community needs. In the meantime, let’s speak and act with kindness a lot of people could use it right now.
