23.01.2022 What an honour it is to be nominated in the SA Woman Australia ‘Mum in Business Award’ category. Thank you to the incredible soul who has nominated me, I have no idea who you are but you are so kind and lovely, it means so much I love being part of the magical SA Woman community, that has been life changing for me. It can be kind of lonely running your own business. When I left my job as a conveyancer I knew I was going to miss not having colleagues around to bounce ideas o...ff.. and not having an end of year Christmas celebration By being part of this community there are nearly 600 members to ask advice from. We also get to celebrate the end of the year together at the awards night. This year there is also a summit during the day too, amazing! I’m so grateful to be surrounded by so many inspiring women blossoming in business! Keep up the great work ladies, you’re all rocking it! #sawomanaustralia #celebratingwomaninbusiness

23.01.2022 Merry Christmas from our family to yours. We hope you enjoy spending some time with loved ones over the next few days. Even though Christmas is one of the most special times of the year, it's also the time of the year when the highest food waste happens. The average family spends over $250 on Christmas day lunch ALONE. Yet, one in ve shopping bags end up in the bin! As we approach the next few days, here are some tips to fight food waste this festive season:... Buy less and use it all: Check your fridge before shopping over the next two weeks. When you go shopping, write a list and stick to it! Before going into shops go really conscious and try not to get sucked into the specials that you don't need. Store leftovers in the fridge properly, e.g. in containers etc. Make a note of the food you're storing. Plan meals around what you already have. Freeze what you know you wont eat. Remember to label what it is and the date you’re freezing it. Which brings me to the next one.... Stop eating what you 'feel like' and instead eat what you already have! Challenge yourself to how you can use up all the leftover food. This is all by thinking about leftovers in a different way. How can I easily spice this meal up again? My fave ways to use leftovers is to mix them into another dish e.g. quiches, blended soups, sauces, pinwheels, or chuck leftovers into some pastry.. who doesn't love pastry hey By doing this it's saving you money, the environment, time and you will feel so much better about yourself after. If you have too many delicious leftovers to have on your own, share with family, friends, neighbours... and not the bin! We would love to hear your tips to kick food waste, share them in the comments Also just a heads up, we are still around over the Christmas break. If you need any Earthyma goodies, feel free to order through the website. We do plan to take some time out to make memories with the family, so orders may be a little delayed. Wishing you all a wonderful and safe Christmas. Thank you for all your support this year. With love, the Earthyma family. #endfoodwaste #merrychristmas

23.01.2022 Aw thank you so much @the.river.block, for making us feel so warm and fuzzy with your beautiful words. We’re so glad you’re loving the Chia and Olive Oil soaps What an amazing piece of paradise you’ve created, we will need to book in a stay soon! #Repost @the.river.block with @make_repost... WASH YOUR HANDS ~ ya filthy animals Seriously though, I’m sick of hand sanitizer. Sick of soaps that dry my hands out. And boy, communal pumps are so 2019. Long storey short, I wanted something y’all could take home after your stay. That reminded you of us every time you were naked LOL! I paired up with a talented lady Char (she’s tagged - stalk her page) to come up with these gems. All feedback has been glorious. And we have a new batch on its way! And this time she has added PINK CLAY! Every time I go to a hotel, I want something to steal to remember my time. Do you? I always feel super awkward in solo photos, however Rachel made me feel so comfortable and she even gave me life advice during the session I‘m really excited to be able to utilise the professional photos she has taken of my work spaces To find out more about this fantastic project, visit: www.thelittleoakstudio.com.au/the-covid-tales Or contact her directly. 15.01.2022 Pretty excited to say that we haven’t bought wrapping paper for years!!! We make our own paper all year long. I feel I am always that weird mum at the parties with the homemade wrapping paper and cards. Hopefully as time goes on it becomes more and more normal. I’ve seen lots of people getting on board with alternatives for wrapping paper this year, which is fantastic. Here are our tips for what we do:... Save any excess paper we’re given/accumulate - from flower bunches, scrap paper, old school book pages (join them together), out of date desk calendars, newspaper... My fave is that brown packing paper a lot of suppliers use to pack parcels these days. I save a chunk to send out my own orders and the rest goes in a craft wrapping paper box. Then it's up to the kids to paint and decorate! We have a box where I store the kids surplus drawings. I take the pictures and use them for wrapping when required. To wrap presents with cloth, have a look at the great Japanese furoshiki technique. Or, if you're clever with a sewing machine, why not make some present sacks or bags to give gifts in...or you can check out our reusable produce bag range With cards it has become my kids job to make them for birthdays, and I sort the presents. By them doing this regularly, it has really helped develop their drawing skills and they are also contributing to the giving process. This year I’ve also kept presents really basic too. The pressies shown here are a book and chocolate for some kids and also a ‘Drive In’ voucher for their family to share. For my nieces I got them a natural/low tox nail polish and a Tangled Kids Hair Care brush to share, and then a piece of clothing from an op shop for each of them. I have been buying my kids second hand gifts from op shops and FB Marketplace for years. I hadn't worked up the courage for secondhand gifts for other kids till this year. I started with my sister, as she understands me really well Now over to you... What wrapping alternatives are you rocking this year?? What have been your fave presents & experiences to give?

09.01.2022 Wow, just like that it’s the last day of #plasticfreejuly. I hope you had a good month, even if it was just becoming aware of this great challenge. One of my goals for the month was to get the hang of homemade bread. My mum gave me her bread maker a few months ago and it has taken me a little while to get into the swing of it. When cooking I like to cook with how I feel. When I create products, I stick to formulations and don’t change things to how I feel. I find bread ma...king is like cosmetic formulating you need to stick to the formulation. After a few hits and misses of bread making I found a recipe from scratch that worked. The key ingredient seemed to be bread flour, which I couldn’t really find in bulk or at an affordable price. Then I discovered the local Magill Grain Store sells 10 kilo bags of Laucke Flour Mill bread mixes. This equals about 16 bread loaves. So to keep things simple I’ve decided to go with this option. I would also just like to share a quick story. I visit the Central Markets regularly and I love buying bread there. There’s a bakery called the Bakers Tray which I have been visiting for years and buying bread etc from. Recently my husband mentioned his company services their equipment. Therefore by my hubby going to work it literally puts bread on our table, in more ways than one. How cool is that? I just think supporting local is the best! The plan is to make bread 80% of the time. With the other 20% I look forward to buying it from awesome bakeries, like the Bakers Tray. I did have another #plasticfreejuly goal I was hoping to achieve, however it’s been a month of unexpected twists and turns so it will have to wait for another time. I’m a big believer in taking my time with my eco journey, not forcing things, implementing changes slowly and taking it at the pace that suits me. I would love to hear how you went this month. Did you give any plastic free swaps a shot? P.s thanks for modelling hubby. I was only allowed to use no. 2 photo if I included the no. 3 See more

08.01.2022 It’s been so much fun creating and testing new formulations over the past few months. My favourite new creation would have to be my hydrating face lotion. Why? Because for sooo long I’ve wanted to create a face lotion however I didn’t have the skills to do so. From studying with the amazing School of Natural Skincare, I’ve learnt about the science to create a lotion. For example oil/water emulsion, using a emulsifying wax, sourcing the correct and safe natural preservative ...etc. It’s the best feeling to tick this product off my bucket list and to also have a beautiful face lotion to use everyday. The past few months have been huge with studying natural skincare in great detail. As a result I’m now educated on a whole new set of ingredients and new professional labels are on the way. However best of all, it’s given me the opportunity to improve every single one of my product formulations, so that I can provide a higher quality range to my customers. A big thank you to my amazing and beautiful customers for being so absolutely incredible and supportive, you’re the best! See more

07.01.2022 What is love? I read a post this morning with kids responses to 'what do you think love is?' I really enjoyed the answers and decided to ask my family, here‘s what they think love is: Little lady: Love is hugs and kisses. Little dude: Love makes you feel great.... Husband: Loving someone because you do lol, thanks hubby. Me: "Loving someone because they're not perfect, instead loving them for their imperfections and appreciating them for being just the way they are." Speaking of love, we are sending so much LOVE to Victoria, especially after the extended restrictions announced this week . You're doing amazing legends, keep up the great work! To anyone needing extra support, please reach out anytime. My door is always open! What do you think love is? Let us know in the comments. #whatislovetoyou #ruokday

06.01.2022 Love this! Christmas is a magical time of the year, don’t you think? But...there have been so many years where I'd get to Christmas day and collapse with exhaustion. This year I plan to:... Pause, Not worry if things aren’t perfect, Say no, and Accept my best is enough. What’s the point of it all if we’re too exhausted to enjoy it, right? For the first time in over 10 years my hubby has time off over the Christmas break too, woohoo! So, I’d love to know... What are you doing to look after yourself during the silly season? : Stacie Swift

05.01.2022 You’ve done it again Craig, with ‘Fight for Planet A’. Watching this new show has reminded me why my life changed after watching his #waronwaste series! This time he explores and shares so many ideas of what we can do right now to reduce our individual and communities carbon emissions. We’ve been busy this weekend making some changes around our home, including:... sealing the unused fire place gap with an old cushion filling the gaps in our floorboards sealing the gaps in our door frames researching if we can offset our carbon omissions with my energy provider. It turns out the provider we’re with has an option for a carbon neutral plan for an extra $1 a week. This means we can choose to power our home with carbon neutral certified electricity making plans to get solar panels installed ...and arranging a shower timer which is probably one of the least welcome changes, sorry hubby These changes are inspired from a tiny fraction of information Craig shares. He delivers the show in an entertaining, funny, interesting and as my hubby says ‘very watchable’ way. He shows us how we can make small changes which can contribute to a big difference. If you’re after a show to watch friends, check it out on ABC iview, it’s awesome! Who else has seen it? What‘s something you‘ve learnt from it? :mediaweek.com.au

02.01.2022 Bravo Brenna Quinlan I’ve slowly been seeing information pop up regarding the importance of the planet’s health (and our own health) during and after this pandemic. Its been great to have lots of info about how to stop the spread, but I haven’t come across much about what we can do to help heal our beautiful planet. I feel this image and Brenna’s text below aligns with the the information in the fantastic ABC series #fightforplaneta. Together they give us ideas of what we c...an do as a community to look after the health of our planet and ourselves. As a result it could hopefully contribute to avoiding another pandemic. Have you watched ‘Fight for Planet A’ yet? If yes, I would love to hear your thoughts Repost @brenna_quinlan with @make_repost We know inside that our health has something to do with the health of the air, soil, water and animals that we rely on. While short termism punishes the environment around us for monetary gain, we lose out in the end. It seems like covid fell out of the blue, but a pandemic like this (or worse) has been on the cards for a while. Governments have been warned by scientists and international bodies that industrial farming and our rates of deforestation put us at a high risk of disease. The good news is that those same scientists and international bodies have made a plan to avoid future pandemics. It takes the form of #onehealth. This has been around for a while, thanks to the @who and the @fao, and is an infinitely sensible guide for governments to follow. It is based on common sense: a healthy planet means healthy people. This is quite a revolution to our society, I'm sure you'd agree. But we know it to be true. Each of these suggestions can be acted upon on an individual level as well as a policy level. We can support local farmers and boycott supermarket meat and dairy. We can fight to save the forests near our homes. We can foster a relationship with and love of the natural world in ourselves and our children. We don't know how bad this or the next pandemic will be, but we know what needs to happen to stop them. And luckily this plan makes life better for us in the process.

02.01.2022 Yesterday my sweet little lady turned 4 It has been a wonderful 4 years watching this incredible little human blossom. Here’s to making many more beautiful memories together my darling
