17.01.2022 Yesterday was World Soils Day (5 December), and all of our EASL Councils (Knox City Council, Manningham Council, Maroondah City Council, City of Whitehorse and Yarra Ranges Council), in partnership with industry and government, have renewed their commitment to cut contamination in household green bins. Our EASL Councils have signed up to the Metropolitan Waste and Resource Recovery Groups The Back to Earth Initiative, which works with industry to promote green waste recycling, reminding us all about what can go into our green bins. Back to Earth shows us that what goes into our green bins is turned into something valuable compost. Council takes green waste from household bin collections to a commercial facility to be composted. This is why its important that plastic, glass and other rubbish is kept out.
