22.01.2022 A word from Spero, our local fisherman.... Last week, well, we call this time of year winter, but in actual fact apart from a day or two and a couple of hours early morning its like summer weather, and for us fisherman, there are no complaints at all. The fishing has been fantastic with all species we target this time of year, in plentiful numbers if you can get out on the windless days.... The whiting have come on in great numbers at the Chain Banks, Rous Channel, and Amity Banks. The Sand Hills as well as the Blue Hole are providing plenty of fish. Squire and snapper are on all the shallow reefs from Huybers light to the east side of Green, St Helena and Mud Islands. The school mackerel are back on the bite but not in close, they are in the Peel basin opposite the Lazaret Gutter towards the Amity Banks, and the Rainbow Channel also has plenty. If you are like me its been so far a great season for arrow squid and cuttlefish in the 25 to 30ft mark wide off Wellington Point Huybers light and Green Island, just need to put a ball sinker on top of the squid jig and fish a foot or so off the bottom. So, no reason to come home without a fresh fish or two and some fresh squid or cuttlefish, and yes it tastes 1000 times better than the rubberised rings . Good fishing.... Spero

21.01.2022 Happy New Year to all and have a safe 2020. We hope everyone is enjoying the gorgeous boating weather we have at the moment. It is great to witness our clean Manly Boat Harbour where the marine life living around our marina are relaxed and feeling safe. *video compliments of one of our clients*

21.01.2022 We have come on board with Zulu waterways. This is a great anchorage & information app that can be used by any boatie on the water. Be it a travelling yachtie, cruising the world or just cruising around Moreton Bay. It is user friendly and information can be added by any app user. This is a great tool to check out the local waterways that you may be visiting. https://www.zuluwaterways.com/

21.01.2022 Happy boaties after a great day out prior to a busy long weekend on the water. We hope you all play safe and enjoy our beautiful Moreton Bay.

20.01.2022 Another glorious calm winters afternoon at East Coast Marina.

19.01.2022 Moreton Bay - a great place to social distance oneself while fishing. The weather has been just perfect for small boats over the last few weeks.

19.01.2022 Another gorgeous sunrise over Manly Boat Harbour this morning. Wishing all our boaties a safe Ekka long weekend on the water #manlyboatharbour #wintersunrise

19.01.2022 We have had the pleasure of the sailing yacht Cascade mooring with us for a few months. Once owned by the late Graeme Shirley Strachan of the famed 80s Aussie Rock band Skyhooks, Emily and Angus are now the fifth owners. Built by the Wilson Bros of Port Cygnet in Tasmania in 1983, Cascade was the biggest ocean racing yacht built in Tasmania post WW2, constructed of 3 layers of Huon Pine and one of King Billy Pine, she has an outer sheath of glass. 3 weeks after her launch she raced the 1983 Sydney to Hobart winning her class, then she ventured off to Europe. Emily and Angus will live on her full time hoping to put many miles under her keel.

18.01.2022 Solar panels almost completed. What a great view.

16.01.2022 Transport and Main Roads Department Queensland would like you to participate and share your ideas for improvements within Manly Boat Harbour. The Manly Boat Harbour is 1 of 8 state owned and operated boat harbours on the Queensland coast, hosting dry standings and wet berths, plus 2 public boat ramps (one at each end of the harbour). The Manly Boat Harbour offers boating and cruising yacht facilities of specific importance for Australias eastern seaboard and the whole of the... southern Pacific Ocean. The purpose of Manly Boat Harbour is to: provide safe and efficient access and refuge for recreational and commercial vessels promote activities that are commercially and environmentally sustainable, support the marine industry, and generate local employment and tourism. 06.01.2022 A very chilly and colourful sunrise this morning. Whilst our clients arrive and just hop on their boats, no fuss, (already launched for them) to catch that fish nice and early, next door at the public boat ramp the trailers are lining up to launch. East Coast Marina clients can have that few more minutes of sleep. #sunrise #earlymorningfishing #autumncool

03.01.2022 Gday Boaties .. its Valentines Day, so we at Coast Guard would love you to take care out on the Bay this weekend. This weeks rain has washed a lot of debri...s into the Bay. Please pay special attention around the islands. Large swells from EX TC Uesi may be a factor in open waters, so consider this before crossing the bar. Weather Situation Ex-tropical cyclone Uesi is well offshore of the New South Wales Coast and moving southwards, leading to moderate east to southeasterly winds over southern waters and generating large and powerful swells. The large swell will continue to ease and winds will become light easterly as the cyclone moves away during the weekend and a weak ridge develops up the Queensland coast. Forecast for Friday until midnight Winds: East to northeasterly 10 to 15 knots easing to about 10 knots during the evening. Seas: Below 0.5 metres. Weather: Partly cloudy. The chance of a thunderstorm later this evening. Saturday 15 February Winds: Variable below 10 knots tending northeasterly 10 to 15 knots with afternoon sea breezes. Seas: Below 1 metre. Weather: Partly cloudy. The chance of a thunderstorm in the morning and afternoon. Sunday 16 February Winds: Variable about 10 knots becoming east to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots in the middle of the day. Seas: Below 1 metre. Weather: Partly cloudy. The chance of a thunderstorm. Tides: Today 7:56 pm 0.49m SAT 15 Feb 2:07 am 2.12m 8:17 am 0.71m 2:13 pm 2.06m 8:43 pm 0.56m SUN 16 Feb 3:12 am 2.09m 9:30 am 0.84m 3:14 pm 1.86m 9:39 pm 0.62m Brisbane Coast Guard maintains a continuous radio watch from 0600 until 1800 Saturday and 0600 to 1800 Sunday on VHF Channels 16 63, 67, 73, 81, 21 27 Mhz Channels 88 90 We provide a free log-on, log-off sea-watch service to all mariners. 01.01.2022 A lovely couple of winter days, and a good time for marina maintenance. It always helps to have the thumbs up for work well done from passers by too. We now have yellow reflector strips on the entrance pylons the each finger.

01.01.2022 Doing our bit for the environment and installing solar panels on top of our dry storage racks. A rather warm day to be working on a roof today, but great views of the harbour and beyond.
